  1. Congressman Torres is going to be a role model for young Puerto Rican and black brothers throughout this land. He is young, articulate and handsome and will be for the next fifteen years or more. He understands poverty because he is a product of the streets. And when you think of Mondaire, Jamal and Cori added to the Squad we are beginning to be heard in the sacred halls of Congress.

    1. He could buy a couple units on his own dime and let people stay rent free? Like our government is making landlords do currently.

  2. He is making the opposite journey of the former, let’s say president, who grew as a slum lord and may end up living in poverty or in prison.

  3. Impressive and inspiring. Fighting from a place of lived experience for the poor, the hungry, the downtrodden – all of which republicans call communism.

  4. Let’s look at the history of public housing.
Most Americans just think it’s a place to house -store the poor.
Most of the people in public housing have jobs ,but dont earn enough to purchase homes for their families.
It’s a long and unfortunate story of segregation and how the government and corporations benefit off the backs of the poor and working class.
