The poverty in this district is historic and generational. This is a shameful reminder how leaders holding office for decades have neglected their duties to uplift and improve the lives of this community. From the president down to the city council, this is cruel and insensitive. This is institutional racism. It happens all over this country. Keep Rep. Torres honest and show love and support him to fight for the necessary changes. These people were born in this community and want to have a reasonable chance of thriving.
