The district attorney and sheriff in Santa Fe, New Mexico, will hold a news conference Wednesday to discuss the investigation into the fatal shooting on the set of the movie "Rust." On Thursday, a prop gun fired during rehearsal by Alec Baldwin, star and producer of the period Western, killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, 42, and injured director Joel Souza, 48. No criminal charges have been filed and production remains on hold. Not long into filming, "Rust" was facing crew complaints about working conditions, and one camera crew eventually walked out. Also, assistant director Dave Halls, who had declared the gun safe before Baldwin took possession, had faced safety complaints in previous productions, the Associated Press reported.

  1. Because of the enconomic crisis and the rate of unemployment, now is the best time to invest and make money💯

    1. I’ve got 12th winning thanks to Mrs patricia Donna, she’s really the best , I have made £16,200 in 18 days of working with her

    2. I met Mrs patricia Donna for the first time at a conference in manchester i invested £25,000 and traded in one month making close to £143,670

    3. This is the kind of information we don’t get from most youtubers I think 🤔 I will start my trade with Expert patricia Donna

  2. Reporter-How did the armorer and AD inspect the gun and did not notice there was a live round in it?
Sheriff – “Need to determine IF they should have known there was a live round in that firearm”
WTF?!?! Of course, they should have known what was in the gun after inspection. It is their job! No charges after a week and the sheriff’s answer don’t give me confidence.

    1. Exactly and you take certification for that. I have friends that work in the studios and even the truck drivers have to take that test and pass.

  3. If he shot once and obviously she screamed or something she got shot why did he shoot the second time or did they get hit with the same bullet?

  4. Stop saying “Accident”. It is not an accident, it’s negligence of industry established rules and protocols. …Big difference.

    1. it’s also violates the law , everyone seems to think that hollywood rules take precedence over the law , we really are in oz toto .

    2. My big question is why is there ever live rounds on any movie set? Hello, Hollywood, its pretend. The irony of Alec, being so anti-gun, killing someone is both funny and sad, sad for this woman. STU BONNER you’re right some negligence some where.

  5. A graduate of University of New Mexico School of Law, Mary lives in Santa Fe with her wife Jo, a retired law enforcement officer. The DA is a joke so far and is a lover of Baldwin.

  6. i’m all for tempering justice with mercy but you have to apply that to everyone fairly , there are a lot of people in prison for vehicular homicide when they were driving drunk , i’m sure they didn’t mean to kill anyone either –justice , no mercy , baldwin will probley not be charged , mercy —no justice .

    1. Why he shouldn’t or wouldn’t be charged exactly? Cause he’s famous? He knew he was handling a deadly weapon who could shot real projectiles, that’s not a prop gun. Person who points or pulls the trigger on a potential lethal weapon is responsible for the safety of that procedure. It does not matter how many people handled that gun prior.

  7. The stunt double had the gun go off two times. Alec had a gun go off one time before the incident. Another actor had a gun go off in his trailer. ( The gun either went off because someone pulled the trigger or mechanical issues. The point is there issues on that set gun safety from day one. At the end of the day those guns are owned by the Armor. And is the one that should be held the most responsible. Then the Alec / David Hall the AD

    1. Do you understand how idiotic that sounds? Those are single action revolvers, not in a million years you can have a accidental discharge of those guns unless you cocked the hammer first. If you cocked the hammer then you are ready to shoot and pointed in the right direction. Simple gun safety procedures that Hollywood never heard off?

    2. @Johnny Muschi wrong. You do understand that people do trigger jobs or things break right. and there been cases where the hammer goes slamming forward without touching the trigger. if this revolver didn’t have a safety lever or block on the hammer even with the hammer down and the revolver loaded to 6 rounds vs 5 rounds it would still strike the primer and go off.

  8. Helena: “Alec, I want you to admit that you assaulted me and are the father of my baby.”
Mr Baldwin: “I’ll take care of it. I’ll give it a shot.”

    1. If you watch the movie “The Crow,” you’ll see the shot that killed star actor Brandon Lee. In the final scene where Draven is killed, no one cleared the gun correctly that was used in an earlier live fire shoot. The actor thought it was loaded with blanks.

  9. FOLKS, GET READY FOR ALEC BALDWIN TO BEAT ANY CHARGES *(see law below)
2011 New Mexico Statutes – Chapter 30: Criminal Offenses
    Article 2: Homicide, 30-2-1 through 30-2-9 – Section 30-2-5: Excusable Homicide. Universal Citation: NM Stat § 30-2-5 (1996 through 1st Sess 50th Legis)
    30-2-5. Excusable homicide.
Homicide is excusable in the following cases:
    A. when committed by accident or misfortune in doing any lawful act, by lawful means, with usual and ordinary caution and without any unlawful intent; or
    B. when committed by accident or misfortune in the heat of passion, upon any sudden and sufficient provocation, or upon a sudden combat, if no undue advantage is taken, nor any dangerous weapon used and the killing is not done in a cruel or unusual manner.

  10. Why did he point a gun at someone, loaded , unloaded….., you NEVER point a firearm at a person unless you’re planning on using to shoot. Did he skip gun safety class.

  11. David Halls needs to go to prison for this, and whomever hired him, given his previous history of carelessness, should also be held criminally responsible.

  12. I’ve been shooting guns since I was 5 years old and taught gun safety. I did the same with my daughter. When it comes down to it you never take someone’s word that a gun isn’t loaded. You ALWAYS check the firearm and ALWAYS treat every firearm as if it were loaded. When it comes down to it Mr. Baldwin is responsible for any firearm that comes in contact with. That’s the bottom line.

  13. When the press conference is over, they’re all going over to Alec’s trailer to get autographs and a selfie!!
