    1. @Bandit 13  sorry to hear that you are visually impaired buddy, but respect for being able to laugh at yourself! Congratulations on being proud and having the mentality of a real human being. Love or hate Wil Smith and his wife, don’t insult her at the Oscars! All the best mate!

    2. Hair loss for a woman is devastating. This is a new journey for her and she has clearly been struggling. Then to finally do something bold and be laughed at in a room full of people. He looked over and saw her in pain and lost it. He clearly loves his wife and cares about her emotional state and what she has been mentally going through. In and industry that cares about how you look. I do not condone what he did but i completely understand it.

    1. No, it was an embarrassment for black people as a whole because this was the first black run Oscars and this fool treated special evening as if he was at the BET Awards.

    2. Academy must take a harsh action against Smith. We have had enough of sadness, covid, Ukraine, separation of people, race issues snd now this. ENOUGH.

    3. @PRINCE CHARMING Listen to what Chris Rock was saying. For a joke it really was pretty harmless. Oscars hosts are supposed to roast the nominees. Chris wasn’t the first one to do this. And he said “I love you Jada” too. No matter, he didn’t deserve to be slapped like that on a stage. He’s a comedian and a host. He was supposed to crack jokes and he was doing his job. Will should have just approached him backstage and discussed with him like two civilized adults in their 50’s.

    1. Jada was prepared to be offended and could have had a wig made or wore a hat but no she sticks it in everyone’s faces then gets mad a joke is made. It kind of proves he is a prisoner to his Karen wife.

  1. What Will Smith was appalling, period!!!! And that sets a bad precedent! Shame on the Academy for letting him go back on stage after this incident .By the way I like Will Smith as an actor ;however, violence is never the answer.

    1. Becuase Chris deserved it. He made a joke at someone’s depression for their autoimmune disease. Comedians need to be held responsible. There a huge line in the middle of her head. What if she had a brain tumor? Like be real here. Let’s also hold Chris accountable. Please don’t say the “comedian” thing. Someone is bald and have a huge line on the tip of their head be sensible and have compassion!

  2. Sending Thoughts and Prayers to Chris. Big Willys vulgar display of aggression should not go unpunished, there will be sanctions imposed immediately.

  3. Will was acting like he was on Cobra Kai’s karate team my goodness. Love Chris Rock he’s so humble 😌

    1. Hi Debbie, the reason I disagree with your comment is because, if more important things are happening and they are the ones making it a headline, I feel it is their fault it is more important. If they want more people to care about Ukraine they should not show the will Smith issue. Feel free to respond with your opinion on my comment. 👍

    2. @Citizen Naohiro Thank you, again I am not saying the Will Smith issue is not important, I just feel that CNN said that “there are way more important things than this” but CNN are the ones that are showing the not as important thing. Ya know. 🤷‍♂️

  4. Completely agree with Sara Snider on everything she said. Thus sends a terrible message to kids and it tarnished the night for many other people. Will should have talked to Chris after the event, not attack him on stage for all the world to see.

    1. Smith wants to prove to Chris Rock and the world ” he is powerful” Karma will hit Smith hard

  5. Just because Will Smith is a famous well-known actor and singer – doesn’t mean he should get away with violence. This moment is a reflection of America – violence especially at the hands of people in power and control – a lot of people stay silent or worse accept violence and bullying as normal. Praying for peace in this world 🕊

    1. As I said here reading the comments as well as the Judgment of others about the act that happened on the Oscars. No one knows what has transpired between those two guys prior to this of him possibly asking him not to make jokes about his wife. I’m not saying that it was right neither am I saying that it was wrong, but we have so many opinions about what he should or should not have done until you are in his or her shoes how is it that you have such big position to judge the situation then to top it off people try to take it and make it as if he killed someone, with the word violence there has been so many things that has transpired over the years and out of all of the things because will stepped up and defended his wife and her going through what she’s going through with losing her hair sisters and brothers men and women unless you are in the predicament of either will or Jada as far as I can say everyone that is blowing this thing out of proportion is just as much as thought as will was with the action he took. Come on people seriously whenever something happens like this pay attention to what’s really happening behind the scenes, because there’s so many different distractions for those who are supposedly the higher-ups making different changes laws rules that you find out later on because you were focused so much on something that was of little to no importance.

    2. And that’s something that’s been needed for the last hundred years. And now this has made such a big impact for no reason. Wake up people that’s not even half of what’s really going on

    3. Well I disagree. I take up challenges that will Smith a man with honor 🎖 too had the right he stood up for Jada cause she felt embarrassed about it an what Chris Rock 🪨 did is disrespecting her and obviously will Smith is offended cause you you wanna know why THAT IS HIS WIFE
HE STOOD UP LIKE A MAN LIKE SUPPOSE TOO FOR HIS WIFE
If it was me he’ll yh I’ll do the same too

    4. Will Smith should not get by with bitting Chris Rock😡Who does Will Smith think he is??? Just bc of who he is Does Not Give Him The Right To Walk Awt from Hitting Anyone😡 If someone else had of done it Would they go to jail ? Of course they would😡 Will Smith Is A Punk and He should go to JAIL!! That’s what is awrong with these world today bc of PEOPLE LIKE WILL SMITH SO CHRIS ROCK DO BOT LET HIM GET AWAY WITH WHAT HE DONE TO YOU BC HES NO BETTER THAN ANYONE ELSE IN THIS WORLD😡
I used to love to watch Will Smith but now NO MORE OF HIM FOR ME BC EVERYTIME I WATCH HE NOW I WILL SEE HIM AS A BULLY SHAME ON YOU WILL SMITH 😡

  6. People would have forgot that joke in 15 seconds. Thanks to Will people will remember it now for a lifetime.

    1. @Benjamin Fouladian, OD if the comedian was white half of Hollywood would be up in flames because “systemic oppression”

  7. Seated in my house watching the Show I felt so disrespected for the action of this violent man. But felt even worse watching him speak bull for 5 minutes with the complicity of the Academy and all those who gave him a standing ovation

    1. @Alicia He committed a criminal act of violence = he is a violent man. I have never hit someone.

    2. PLEASE CARLOS DISRESPECTED REALLY??? CHRIS GOT ROCKED AND DESERVED IT! WAKE UP BRO.!!! IF SOMEBODY SAID SOMETHING ABOUT YOUR WIFE, YOU WOULDN’T REACT? C’MON BRO! YOUR NOT A CHUMP ARE YOU BRO.?🤨

    3. @Alicia It might be a bit of a reach, BUT who caused it to be that way? You seem to want to make Smith blameless, fine, but imagine all of the young black girls watching, who will turn to their parents and ask, “why did he hit Chris Rock?”
And let’s not forget the stream of profanity Smith yelled at Rock…most of us couldn’t HEAR what he said, but we KNOW what “mf” looks like when we see a mouth moving…

    4. YOU felt disrespected ?? Really !! Shame on you !! His wife was very upset. I thought Chris Rock had a brain, he does not. This wasn’t about you Carlos… you will get over it.

    5. @D. Mills C’MON D. MILLS REALLY? I GUESS PEOPLE CAN SAY THINGS TO YOU AND IT’S OK! THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH BLACK OR WHITE! WAKE UP GIRL!!! IT’S A MATTER OF RIGHT AND WRONG!!! AND CHRIS FU–KED UP AND GOT WHAT HE DESERVED!!!! AND WHAT I DON’T UNDERSTAND IS HOW ARE YOU DISRESPECTED??? THIS HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH YOU TO BEGIN WITH!!! 🤨

  8. Couldn’t agree more, about how this event stole from others and their hard work, not to mention the memorials. I always tell my kids, for every action, there’s a reaction and you want to make sure that whatever action you choose to take will be beneficial, or things like this happen. Now, look, one slap and everyone’s talking about that. Crazy.

  9. Any normal person would’ve gotten arrested for assault. We can say that Jada made him do it, but at the end of the day he did it. He made the choice to do it. It shouldn’t matter that Chris Rock isn’t going to press charges. He assaulted someone and the world saw it. There needs to be some kind of punishment.

  10. Eric Duggins is a voice of reason. The entire discussion was sobering. I enjoyed everyone’s comments. It was a pathetic moment for the Academy and Smith.

  11. You’re correct, Eric. Safety and security should have been the first thought for the event, even for performers on stage. Consequences should have been instantaneous.

  12. An immediate consequence was warranted…not to speak in the moment, as Eric suggests, would have sent a clear message. Slapping someone on international television then justifying it in a thank you speech was weirdly unacceptable. There were so many more dignified ways of handling this situation, especially since many are alluding to history between these two men. We the audience will not easily forget what was an ‘okay’ joke with what actually happened. Stupid of you, Will Smith…there needs to be a consequence. You can’t use celebrity status to get away with violence. 🇳🇿🇳🇿🐑🐑NZ

  13. He should be charged, We can’t live in a society where no consequences exists or this will be commonplace. He needs to be held accountable.
