Science Was Distorted & Rejected': Dr. Fauci On Working With The Trump Admin | Rachel Maddow | MSNBC

  1. Trump didn’t want ‘America first’, he wanted ‘America only’. And within the country he wanted his way or no way. He really would’ve loved to rule with an iron fist.

    1. Really when he said “America” he meant himself, plain and simple, do “Ametica first” or “Ametica knly” translated to Trump only.

    2. No, he didn’t even want that. He just wanted to benefit himself and so he put his own interests above everyone else’s.

  2. He has respect for the Office of President and NOT the actual President .. Sadly, the President didn’t have respect for the Office of President

    1. @Ryan Smith Since you’re such a smart mouthed Alec – why don’t you read your previous comment again . It’s of no use going further with this conversation because you don’t seem to comprehend what you wrote . So goodbye – I won’t be reading nor responding to your comments..

    2. @Ryan Smith Sorry Louis Pasteur there is a worldwide Pandemic and its killing thousands American Citizen as well and the Death Certificates have clearly stated that they died from Covid 19

    3. @jameswyrm8 A quality of Science is that it is changeable, not a dogma (like religion is). Science changes as new discoveries are made, so start learning about Science and become more educated, it doesn’t hurt.

    4. @Dulce R-L no it wasnt science . there wasnt enough research done to determine ANYTHING. Cdc who fauci were all wrong multiple times. Not science but lack thereof.

  3. Mike Pence was anti-science , a religious fundamentalist and in charge of America’s biggest science project. I can only imagine how difficult it must have been to work with him ..

    1. Wrong. Pence created the team at the White House. Dr. Fauci, Dr. Birx and Admiral Radcliffe followed the developing epidemic while WHO’s DrTedros kept denying it.

Dr. Fauci is a hero in the vein of the Curies and Di Wenliang—- but he has survived the discovery.

    2. To be fair to Pence, he was following Trump’s lead. That doesn’t excuse him from being spineless, but if he were the sort to buck the president, he wouldn’t have been chosen as vice president.

Though, it seems that he did develop a backbone after Trump sicced his sycophants on him. Hearing them chant “Hang Mike Pence!” and seeing the gallows they constructed for him must’ve strengthened his vertebrae something fierce.

    3. @Håkan Bråkan Kråkan Correct, religion hampers the absorption of education by kneecaping the logical, deductive mind. It conditions the mind to accept info without evidence, to just “take it on faith”. There is a reason why they are so susceptible to conspiracy theories. Why when you scratch the surface of a trump supporter you find a rabid religious zealot.

    1. @Lee TV If your main concern and priority is the safety of millions of people, getting fired from a position where you can do the most and whenever possible lessen the injurious actions of said narcissist sociopath would be an immensely stupid move. Specially when there were many others already doing so.

    2. @Lee TV His sense of responsibility and his determination to keep slogging through the muck and mire to do his job while stealthy battling that narcissistic psychopath is what impresses me *most* about him.
Yes, he could have quit. But how would any of us have been better served for that?
Instead, he held his head up (ducked when necessary) and kept working to find solutions to a GLOBAL PANDEMIC.
He continued to do the work that needed to be done while fighting the dismissive unconcerned regime from the beginning of the AIDS epidemic; he continues to do the same today with COVID-19.
He has been lauded by the WHO as a man who has done more to promote the welfare of everyone on the planet than any single individual has.
If sacrificing one’s pride in order to continue the urgent work he has dedicated his life to is not class and professionalism, I can not possibly imagine what is.

    3. @myko freder Yeah; Fauci funneled the money to Wuhan, to continue research on the virus that he has the patent on……

  4. Dr Fauci is an amazingly strong man. God bless him and those who work with him. His job should be easier from now on.

    1. “I really believe the Republicans are just too crazy right. I mean, what’s going on [in that party] is just nuts.”
― The Donald @ interview with NBC News’ “Meet the Press”, October 1999

“In many cases, I probably identify more as Democrat. I’ve been around a long time. And it just seems that the economy does better under the Democrats than the Republicans. Now, it shouldn’t be that way. But if you go back, I mean it just seems that the economy does better under the Democrats. …we’ve had some pretty bad disaster[s] under the Republicans.”
― The Donald @ interview with CNN’s Wolf Blitzer, March 2004

  5. Science was only right when it was convenient to Trump. Climate change? Not real. Virus vaccine? Good work science, now put my name on it. Glad to start putting those days behind us.

    1. @troy krentzs That’s always the case with the rightwing, isn’t it? Science is fake until they need it. It’s the same with government programs. It’s socialism until they need it, then it’s all right.

    2. @Bryce Brogan yeah i remember Jenna Ryan, one of capitol rioters who flew to DC with private jet asking for money from people through GoFundMe. This is the same woman who MOCKED people for taking goverment assistance during pandemic.

    3. Science does not concern itself with fitting a political narrative. Unfortunately, it would seem that that was lost on Trump.

  6. And Mike Pence was the boss of the task force ! – he could have contradicted Trump, the president cannot _fire_ the VP 😉

    1. Because Pence did so well with the largest HIV outbreak in years that happened in the state he governed? He didn’t care then, why would he care about covid?

    1. Why would you blindly trust anyone, because?
What of Judy Mikovits, why not trust her, after all her credentials and history are just as prestigic.
Mikovits was the researcher that defined what the cause of AIDS was.
Mikovits also found in her research that earlier vaccines had become contaminated with animal retrovirus, after they were used in testing lines.
But someone stopped her from exposing this research to the world..
      Faucci.
Mikovits claimed Faucci legally muzzled her to protect the pharmaceutical companies.
Such information would have majorly damaged the vaccine industry.
Why would i believe one over the other?
Mikovits says up to 30 million people in the US may be harboring these virus.
If that is the case, Faucci should be in prison.
As usual, mainstream says nothing, its what they do, when it suits their narrative

    2. @Lawrence Smith narrative you got from faux (fox) news right? Go back there with your conspiracy theories, they’re not needed here #smh

    1. @Life’s Happy good i am very glad to hear that ,,, if you watch the youtube clip of him using the N word maybe you would see him in different light ,,, LETS HOPE HE REPLACES THE 10.000 UNION WORKERS WHO LOST THEIR JOBS FROM HIS ACTIONS I HOPE SO !!!!!

    2. @Louise Gethin yes we were but man isn’t God so now by playing God this is the type of thing that happens

    1. @czgibson …. go away Obama . You should be grateful President Trump didn’t throw your sorry half-black A$$ in Guantanamo.

    2. @Alice Yes, the way Obama made Trump obstruct justice and commit tax fraud and solicit election fraud and incite insurrection was such a disgrace.

  7. this guy deserves the highest medal in the land. Some old folks done good, huh? Who’d believe he’s 80 years old.

    1. He admitted to lying twice. I appreciate him challenging Trump but the lying thing is unforgivable in a scientific position of power.

    2. @Margaret Nicol he admitted to misleading public about masks to save masks for medical professionals. We don’t need scientists that mislead.

  8. ‘Science Was Distorted & Rejected’

    “I don’t think science knows” (about global warming) ~Sept 15th 2020, Donald ‘J for Jenius’ Trump~

  9. “The good thing about science is that it’s true, wether or not you believe in it.”
    Neil DeGrasse Tyson

    1. “Funding for science has been historically higher under Republicans than under democrats”
      – Neil Degrasse Tyson

    2. Another cool thing about science is that it auto-corrects. If someone has a hypothesis on something and the scientific method is applied to test if it is true or false, sooner OR later the results will be what they are. Trying to interpret the results correctly can be a challenge though 😜

    3. @Jerry Esque . “I dream of a world where the truth is what shapes people’s politics, rather than politics shaping what people think is true.”

      Neil deGrasse Tyson

  10. This poor man had to keep quiet and be deflated because he is a decent human being.
It’s good to see you back Dr Fauci. You look 20 years younger under the new administration. 😘🙏🎉

    1. your all a bunch of brainwashed muppets who welcome slavery under a pharmaceutical technocracy dictatorship and because im not on board i will be given a yellow star to wear on my sweater……let me see how many people will discriminate against me because i dont believe in your tyrannical science….nazis on the rise in America..

  11. Dr. Fauci says “it’s chilling when you see it happen,” him being asked to distort scientific fact. He (sadly) had a front row seat to how close we came to losing 1st amendment.

  12. You can literally see in his face that he is more relaxed about being in front of that microphone then he was while dealing with Trump.
