CNN's SE Cupp argues that although the loudest voices on the far right and the far left do not represent the majority, they can cause major damage to the country.

    2. @Tucker Carlson C’mon, Tucker (real or not). You lie non-stop. I’ve seen you. Over and over just lying and lying and lying.

  1. ‘Tea Party moderates’… say what now!!???? We all know the specs are non-prescription S.E. but come on.

Afraid, when it comes to actual intelligence, I tend to take the pessimistic approach… this Cupp is at best half-empty.

    1. ocd 12354 it is intellectually dishonest to compare the progressive insurgence to the tea party. The tea party did begin as a grassroots movement in 2007 but they quickly became a corporate owned fad, waltz the progressive insurgency is a grassroots backlash against neo liberalism.

    2. antmagor it wasn’t a fad nitwit, it was choked out by dumbAScraps like obozo who put the irs up to refusing all 501c’s

    3. @antmagor My comment was more based on the very idea, proposed by Cupp in the video, of the existence of ‘Tea Party moderates’ and this being a contradiction in terms (whatever the Tea Party was it was not populated by moderates who were later forced out by extremists as Cupp ridiculously suggests).

As a complete aside it is never intellectually dishonest to compare any two items be they ideological concepts/movements or anything else. Such a comparison may well show that the two don’t equate or correlate on any level but the simple act of comparing is not in itself dishonest. Even to equate or correlate would not necessarily be dishonest if based on genuinely-held opinion (… I happen to agree with your view that when comparing the rise of the Tea Party with that of the progressive insurgency there are a great many differences but if I honestly felt there were a great many similarities I would not be being intellectually dishonest in equating them… though I would of course be intellectually wrong, which is an entirely different thing).

Your backlash against neo-liberalism observation is to my mind accurate up to a point. Yes, progressive numbers have swelled partly through a backlash against neo-liberalism but also because many of us are sick to death of the negative impacts of rampant and unfettered free-market capitalism. Progressivism also prospers organically because decent people recognise that, while individual endeavour should always be recognised and rewarded, so too is there a collective responsibility at play and that there are shared benefits to a flourishing community/society. Our own interests are and always have been inherently and intrinsically interlinked with the interests of our fellow men and women.

    4. @antmagor Yep as the French saying goes “comparaison n’est pas raison” (sorry this doesn’t translate that well) but in that case it would mean that relying on lazy symmetrical pattern finding does not make for sound political analysis .
It could very easily argued that the tea party movement was triggered by the pain caused by neoliberalism . The fact that this movement could not find an operative political expression other than racism is not a bit surprising since it couldn’t build on a constructive criticism of hardcore capitalism , neoliberal propaganda having blocked this avenue the only way forward was anti elite conspiracy theories generally heavily tainted by racism and a strong eschatological component .
She is of course quite right in assessing that such simple political representations will be used to divide the Dem’s camp and that’s exactly what she’s doing . I have no doubt that back in the day she would have called FDR a dangerous extremist .

  2. Mainstream media still refuses to admit the 2016 election was about historic disgust from across the electorate that was channeled into huge grassroots movements in both parties. The Democrats narrowly defeated populism by having Hillary rig the Primary against Bernie. Republicans grudgingly accepted it when their base rejected all their hand-picked elitist candidates and finally conceded to the Trump phenomenon; and then they won bigly.

    1. Another Bernie Minion Whiner… Cry me a fucking river Bernie Minion Whiner… Why don’t you stick your head between your boyfriend’s legs and suck it ..

  3. When nothing gets resolved 🤷‍♀️cause Politics has become entertainment if anything else 🤦‍♀️😏✌

    1. @William H What does the LGBTQ have to do with my comment 🤷‍♀️read my comment again 🤔incidentally all you Trump supporters are uptight just like the President 🤦‍♀️lighten up 😏Trump supporters always fly off the deep end 🤦‍♀️😏✌

    2. @William H My comment had nothing to do with the LGBTQ 🤷‍♀️what don’t you understand!!🤦‍♀️😏✌

    3. @Ruthie Monroig Seems like you lack confidence to state your real opinion. I’ll ask one last time…do you support the LGBTQ community Ruthie?

    1. And that’s why you here trolling, feeling threatened and scared by the facts they deliver? No indeed she’s talking about lying Trump’s approval ratings. They’ve been horrendous since he got in office. Plus you clearly don’t understand how TV ratings work because you would know that in the key demographics that bring in money CNN does very very well, so overall they may get less old racist and uneducated viewers than Faux News but they still manage to bank enough to continue getting right wing trolls mad for many years to come 😂😂

    2. JR N no they’re only here to get a good laugh, this is like comedy hour. Hell it’s like comedy every day. Now shut the F up we don’t really care what you have to say and do not reply back to me moron because I don’t wanna hear what you got to say…

    3. @JR N No one feels threatened by CNN. I personally come here for entertainment. You are HOMOSEXUAL correct?

    4. @20190 Oh stupid please stop whining…you are so 2016😂 Everybody now knows about you trolls, you serve no purpose and you actually make it even easier for us to expose the right lies, hypocrisy, hate and attempt to corrupt our values. So keep being mad…we will keep exposing you😉😁

    1. Trump throws himself in every. He who wants to say all the time just like primary school kid ” I said the last word or I touched you last”. This is Trump.

    2. @S Al if the media political hacks just STOP asking him every stupid question under the sun he would’t need to answer every stupid question under the sun.

    3. @Mark Hepworth Trump in many ways moved the party further left, i.e. less war, deporting illegals like Obama did, keeping them In cafes like Obama did.

  4. CNN helped elect Trump by ignoring Bernie in 2016 and now they are looking to reelect him in 2020 by shutting down progressive voices.

    1. No. S E Cupp is a conservative who came from Fox. She has a particular take on things. It’s always valuable even if I often disagree.

  5. Pelosi hasn’t given CNN their script tonight.

Who decided all of these people are “people of color”?

Did they ask if they wanted to be lumped into a group and called that.

  6. How long do the progressives gotta wait? Its never the right time. And if centrists use neoliberal policies, that means you’re asking them, the progressives, to eat poison for the greater good–yet again–and again– — and again.

The dnc has played multiple back room backstabs.
And its never ” the right time” for progressive policies, but always time to support the mainstream.

    Trump is about 95%poison.

Biden might be 60%,80%. hey dnc:
Try to keep selling that, its getting harder and harder, isnt it?

How you gonna sell millennials on a politician who is 80% bought by corporates??!?

  7. Are you saying that corporate Democrats and Republicans aren’t damaging the country .

    1. She’s saying you shouldn’t argue in public…… I have a sensitive spot there because some jerk would be a bad thing on the sly…and if you objected you were always in the wrong for “causing trouble”. I learned that when someone does me harm I should say nothing…and instead pay them back 10 times over….and just not get caught doing it. That’s the sort of world she’s effectively advocating. Don’t resit the bullies. “Anything for a quiet life” is one way of putting it…and I’ve always rejected that. No justice can ever be found in that space.

  8. You notice how Not one of the New stations Ever discuss the real Problem in politics…. 1st get Corporate money out of politics that is the main problem it amazes me how This is not number one on every American’s list of problems with politics.. smh..

  9. The most important thing in 2020 is getting rid of Pelosi and the rest of the New Democrat Caucus of Republican plants and Trump enablers. You gotta clean your own house first.

  10. Peace. You’re supposed to be a Republican but urging painfully for the Dems to get it together before they lose it. #VeryFakeNewsMedia at its best.

  11. What does your party turn to when the party platform is full of ludicrous plans most Americans don’t want? Cannibalism!

  12. Chief flint and Kelly United States just got Concord mice eyes of Racine Wisconsin that guy Lloyd

  13. aahhh the cup cleavage..!!…as always on display for every episode of serious ‘journalism’….
