I live in Canada and I just don’t get the American attitude towards wearing a mask. Those that don’t are nothing more than self-centered and selfish. Why is it that the rest of the world “gets it” but the US just can’t seem to wrap their heads around the concept?

Mengele Fauci, who on 7th of april 2020 in a press conference very detailed explained how all deaths are covid deaths, and that’s basically why the covid death numbers are heavily inflated. There’s fuckload of money in covid death, so even suicide is a covid death now. No money for the hospital for finding out you shot yourself in the head, BUT they get money if they change that to cause of death: covid.

It’s about to get real for about 24 million Americans. Trump and his minions are, at this moment, trying to repeal the Affordable Care Act, throwing them all off their insurance and allowing insurance companies to reinstate pre-existing conditions. With COVID, this will be a double whammy, because COVID can variously affect numerous body systems, depending on the person. They will be able to test for antibodies to COVID and declare just about anything a pre-existing condition going forward.
Keep on showing the real situation with Covid-19, with all its nasty, gross manifestations. It may, just may convince people to simply put on a mask in public. Such a small request to save lives.

@Diane I can’t either… but as a nurse (RN) it is mandatory… 12 hours a day unless I am on my break in the break room – BTW my break is only 30 mins!
Most important is that it saves lives. Just imagine, an OR team doing surgery and decide that they will take off their masks and in addition to that… refuse to wash their hands for the mandatory 3 mins because they are tired and cannot breath.

Yes hospitals are laying nurses off… why because the MONEY hospitals make is from PROCEDURES such as open heart surgery, transplants, orthopedic surgery…. when those are on HOLD… the hospital DOES NOT MAKE MONEY!!!! Unfortunately, the nursing staff suffers. Some hospitals have furloughed their staff. Others have utilized them for the front doors and entrances… taking temps, etc helping out in triage doing covid testing… NOT everyone can work in ED or ICU ( I know I cannot… I work in Labor and Delivery…BTW L/D units do not make money… that why every hospital don’t have them)… those are closed SPECIALITY units. How do I know?… I am a practicing RN for the past 30+ years and continue to practice in a LEVEL 3 HOSPITAL!!! The level 3 hospitals will be the first place they will transport patients from other facility. So look for those hospitals to fill up first.
My big brother who lives in NYC was skeptical too until he took himself to ELMHURST hospital during the height of their CV episode. He (60 years old) went out and bought himself a sewing machine so he can make his own designer masks! He called me and said this thing is not going away anytime soon is it…. I said absolutely NO… it will not. Too many people out there not following the rules. If we sew guns into the masks…and they suck on it like a pacifier…. maybe that will make a difference.
My hospital already told us that we are not getting a merit raise this year..they said they want to hold on to their staff. So if our unit is slower…. we are put on call, or the nursing has staff doubles up on patients, or they take away the CNA or HUC who could have help…increasing our workload and adding non-nursing things to our workload… so YES….. EVERYONE suffers! Nurses are not around sitting down playing cards or dancing on TIK TOK, or whatever else you all think we do…. When I work, I can easily log 20,000 steps in one 12 hour shift, and and barely walk to my car at the end of the shift!

Nationwide, death rates down drastically, ICU usage down drastically. Now that Nursing homes are being protected (like they did from the START in Florida and other SMART states) deaths will stay low.
Vast majority of new cases are younger due to reopening, testing protocols (1 test positive in a large office building, they test everyone to find asymptomatics – who were already infected anyway – as SCIENCE has told us since March was likely 50-85 times tested numbers). Also, LOTS of new cases due to asymptomatic being tested upon hospital admission for other, delayed procedures.
Based on low death rate overall, we now see virus is lethal to older/underlying…but WAY less so than the flu to all others.
Ages 1-18 have 2% of cases, with only .006% of that 2% being serious – which if you do the math is FAR LESS than most other causes of this age group mortality like cancer, accidents, etc. Also, 1-18 are NOT superspreaders. OPEN THE SCHOOLS!!!
