See victim’s brother hug convicted ex-cop Amber Guyger

After former Dallas police officer Amber Guyger was sentenced Wednesday to 10 years in prison for the murder of Botham Jean, his brother embraced her and said he forgives her.

Brandt Jean went over to Guyger and the two hugged. Jean told her he doesn't want her to go to prison.

"I love you as a person and I don't want to wish anything bad on you," Jean said before they hugged for nearly 30 seconds.

Jurors on Tuesday had found Guyger, 31, guilty of murder for fatally shooting Jean in his Dallas apartment in 2018. She had faced between five years and 99 years for the shooting.

  1. I love you as a person 🙅🏿‍♀️🙅🏿‍♀️🙅🏿‍♀️🙅🏿‍♀️ can I give her a hug 🤦🏾‍♀️🤦🏾‍♀️🤦🏾‍♀️🤦🏾‍♀️ I’m done

    1. @Lonnie 1Love Weak? What he did showed strength. I can well imagine that it was not easy for him at all to show forgiveness to her.

    2. Don’t know why that statement made me cringe 😬. And when he started touching his clothing. I was like, uh, you know her? He probably doesn’t consider himself “Black.” Poor child.

  2. If I’m ever faced with such a storm, I only pray that I can operate in the spirit of God at this level. This is how we as a people are still here on this globe and how, throughout the aisle of time, we have triumphed over evil. I’m truly proud of this young man.

    1. @Dorian RC Taylor I was sexually assaulted when I was 7, and could never forgive the man. I wasn’t raised in a Godly home. Found and surrendered my life to Christ at 19, and learned how to even forgive that man. Now, the hardest thing I have trouble with is forgiving myself when I screw up.

I’m 35 now, with 3 kids and have been married 16 years. I love everyone and hope for them to find Christ, knowing that most won’t.

The Way is narrow. Few find it.

    1. I apologize I misunderstood what you were saying and said something negative I hope i erase it before it was viewed thank you for your Humanity

    1. @S B The Bible says to love your enemy, which is what Jesus did on the cross even when he was hanging there he said “Father forgive them they know not what they do”.

    2. Greetings John Brown
my name is Karl.I just read your comment, and yes I agree.I need to reexamine my heart as well.If only all the people that have commented on the site could reexamine their hearts also.God Bless you,and have a Blessed Day.

    3. @lawchick me Jesus was talking about his brethren, the Israelites not everyone. He only came for his people and he made that clear as well (Matt 15:22-28)

  3. Weakness is giving in to your rage, forgiveness takes strength especially in the face of something so horrible. I know I wouldn’t have it in me to forgive, this dude is a pillar of grace.

    1. Weakness is letting people beat you down repeatedly and letting it go. She murdered his brother then tried to drag his name through the mud in an attempt to get herself out of trouble. She’s not even remorseful, she’s just caught.

I just read your comment. You are sooo Right. My name is Karl, and sometimes,I get angry at people that I felt did my a wrong. Then I watch the Video of a true Man forgiving the Woman who killed his Brother.I watched this this Morning on one of the Cable News Shows. It reminded me of what I should by feeling. When I watch the display of forgiveness, and the Woman reaction,I get touched.I am reminded as all of us should that only God judges, and that we should all seeks forgiveness from others, and be willing to forgive others ourselves.

    3. Hey Shinzenbi
you are soooo Right.Everybody needs to be forgiving to the wrongs done to us.I am a part of a religion that is suppose to be forgiving, but sometimes, some are not. This is truly bad.We need to put into action what the younger brother put into action, and from the heart.

  4. He did EXACTLY what he was supposed to do. GOD is happy with that one. And I hope the victim is also with GOD. May Ms. Guyger find peace as well.

  5. His death was NOT in vain!! 😭😭😭😭 There is room at the cross for all no matter the offense and the ground is always level. NO KING BUT JESUS THE CHRIST!!!

    1. His death WAS in vain. What did anybody gain from it? A man lost his life. She got an absurdly light sentence. She’ll be out enjoying the fresh air and sunshine in 5 year while an innocent man rots in a box in the ground.

    2. I am so pleased to read your comment , saying “the” Christ is absolutely correct as “Christ” is not his last name .. Glad to know someone else gets that. ✌
