As I have always said, never get in the way of a train wreck. Let them call Biden and struggle to prove Biden’s relevance to this case. If Roberts is any kind of a judge he will throw such a witnesses testimony out, because there is in fact no relevance. Republicans get Biden and the Dems get Bolton. The Dems have put together a good case, but they are working too hard trying to do this all on their own. Let the Trump team do the work for them. Don’t get in the way of Trumps train wreck.
Unfortunately, the decision to throw testimony out would not be up to Roberts, it would again be a majority vote of Senators.

The innocent don’t hide evidence.
Trump had 2.5 years to be interested in corruption if he wanted to. Don’t tell me he all of a sudden just happened to become interested in corruption and it just happened to be the corruption of his then top polling election rival. We can’t have a President using the immense influence of the Presidency to bribe foreign countries into doing things against his election opponent. And by the way, I think Biden is guilty too, but Trump doesn’t actually care about that and he doesn’t have the authority to do what he did (which also could have destabilized the region by the way).
It also comes down to the timing. Giuliani suddenly made his plans to start pushing for investigations very soon after Biden announced his intent to join the presidential race.
