Actually, the true title of the statue is “Liberty Enlightening the World”. Cuccinelli could use some enlightenment himself.

    • @RUSSIAN SALAD DRESSING You and American Thinker are idiots.
There hasn’t always been a United States
Cultural assimilation has never been policy by force but by influence.
Which culture are you going to exempt? Creole, Amish, Jazz, Blues, Soul Rock and Roll. Acquired indigenous people of New Mexico, Hawaii? Are you going to tell hippys not to be hip? Catholics to stop liking the Pope? White Americans to stop it with the Ice Hockey? Can the indigenous still AIM?

    • That’s one of racist thing ever invented accept a Confederate flag and them evil statues

    • @toney ingram racist? in what way?

She also once took down the most effective colleague in her Congress taking down real people. So she could make sure Al Franken never got his day in front of an ethics committee. She also repeatedly screws over her most vulnerable constituency.
The real question is why anyone pays attention to this opportunistic populist bomb thrower. We don’t need a left version of the Tea Party tax thieves.
She’s a dishonest politician who creates turmoil for her own purposes. And has for years.

  4. Politicians are basically being BRIBED by the NRA. This should be outlawed. Otherwise this will truly be a government run by the corporations not the people

    • Gambit2483, There are 5 to 7 members of the NRA for every member of the 7 largest gun control groups combined. The GOA has 2 members for every member of the 7 largest gun control groups.
There are about 10 large National pro gun groups in the U.S. not including any of the state level organizations.
You Victim Disarmament/gun control crowd are a sub minority who wouldn’t even be heard from if it wasn’t for biased media support.

    • oh my another brain dead liberal democrat, politicians or being bribed by Kst. not the nra.

    • The New Colossus
      BY EMMA LAZARUS
Not like the brazen giant of Greek fame,
      With conquering limbs astride from land to land;
Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand
A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame
Is the imprisoned lightning, and her name
*Mother of Exiles* . From her beacon-hand
Glows world-wide welcome; her mild eyes command
The air-bridged harbor that twin cities frame.
“Keep, ancient lands, your storied pomp!” cries she
With silent lips. *“Give me your tired, your poor* ,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
*The wretched refuse* of your teeming shore.
*Send these, the homeless* , *tempest-tost to me* ,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!”

so what do you think that means?

@Bruce Bartup At the turn of the 20th century America needed labor for its expanding industry. Immigration was closed for decades after that to allow for assimilation.
Nowadays, America has a rich safety net that attracts all kinds. America can not afford to allow millions of unskilled workers to enter and absorb our safety net benefits.

    • @Faithful Patriot

not as such, no. But it doesn’t matter. There are enough people on your side that the idea of imposing policy against your will is aa non-starter. Not open to reason or evidence. Stubborn, you know the type. Therefore th current policy must change.

But for the sake of facts: .

  18. The latest model of The Gillibrand 2.0 Robot to roll out of the factory is replete with:
    • Furrowed brow (for use with serious topic discussion)
    • Excessive blinking (more of a bug than a feature to be fixed in Gilly 2.1)
    • Miosis or Synthetic Pupil Constriction™ (SPC)

  19. With our huge national deficit you want to buy every assault weapons off the street so our national deficit can be worse than it already is. Politicians don’t have a clue when it comes to spending within their means.

Gun Control is ANTI WOMAN’S RIGHTS — it prevents women from defending themselves. Historically, Gun Control began as a way to control African Americans.
It doesn’t take courage to defy the will of the majority of Americans. Criminals act contrary to our laws every day.
