All the witnesses in the world wouldn’t have convinced the 43 senators who voted to acquit Trump to change their minds. Trump himself could have showed up, grabbed the mic, and admitted he was guilty, and the vote would have been the same. 🤷🏼♀️
Great article on just this (the dems decision to not drag out the trial). If anything, it would of cost dems conviction votes and seriously undermined Biden’s crucial agenda.

The no votes were the ones that helped trump plan the coup.
Yeah, but “most bipartisan impeachment trial vote in history” is a very sad statement one need to utter. A presidential impeachment isn’t something that should be common to the point that we need make historical comparisons in so many regards like bipartisanship, votes to convict, etc.
Tells you we can’t trust them to police themselves. We need new laws that create a standard by which someone can run for office an that holds people in office accountable.
I am not sure they should pat themselves on the back too hard. I find it shocking that those were the only Republican senators who crossed over in this situation. The rest of them are traitors in my opinion.
