Sen. Chris Murphy: “On gun violence, there’s a really powerful political constituency on the other side we have to beat. What makes the Trump administration’s lack of response so unconscionable is there isn’t a political force on the other side.” Aired on 05/05/2020.

  1. Trump should go out and be a “warrior” and work in an essential business. The only problem is Trump would not be able to do that. He has never worked a day in his life. SAD

    1. @Thomi L So what that he inherited money.. He also inherited a presidency where he has to deal with ungrateful, entitled, anti American coward crybabies that can’t handle an alpha leader because they’re so fixated on a beta running the country.. Go hide under a rock in your house with the windows shut and doors locked until this virus is gone.. Let the government support you some more…You’ll see when everything unfolds.. We already have evidence that the former administration spied on the trump campaign, sent millions to the virology lab in wuhan China and worked w our intelligence to take down an innocent man… Not too mention all the funding of terrorism and cash payments sent to the country that chants “death to america”.. Yeah you should be proud of YOUR great president Obummer..

    2. @BJ
Hey STuPID , The GREAT PRESIDENT OBAMA, also worked harder in one hour, the dummy useless tRump does in a week, so go put that in your pipe and smoke it. He deserved to go play golf and also not at the vast expense that it costs taxpayers with tRump flying to Florida.

    3. @Jim P LOL You have the audacity to call me stupid yet you’re as ignorant and dumbed down as they come.. You have your opinion and I have mine so keep your insults to yourself. MAGA

    4. @BJ I am not living in the US nor voting there, just laughing as the rest of the world about Donald Duck and how ridiculous all that is including the followers; biggest joke in worlds history but always great to laugh. Saying he is a leader is a great joke on its own, really, you are funny guy, how should anybody take that for serious, as I said, always great to follow as this is great cinema, comedy 🤣

    5. @Thomi L Whatever you think Sir. There are many ppl outside the USA that like our president and view him as a strong leader..

  2. Take your pick and run ads all year.

    January:
“We have it under control, one person coming from China”
“We’re working closely with China to contain the coronavirus”

    February:
“15 infected, and within a couple of days, it’ll be close to zero”
    “We’ll have vaccines relatively soon”
“It’ll go away in April with the heat”
    “It’ll disappear like a miracle”
“I have a good relationship with President Xi”

    March:
“The risk to the American people is very low”
“Only 22 deaths so far, no shutdown”
“I don’t take any responsibility at all”
“We are approaching the end against the invisible enemy”
“We have a problem nobody thought about a month ago”

    April:
“There will be a lot of death”
“If less than 100,000 Americans die, we have done our job”

    May:
“There’ll be more death, and the virus will pass with or without a vaccine”

    1. @Whirlwind S If you’re that scared, hide under your bed and don’t come out until all of this over. Just a little advice.

    2. @BJ no hiding as I am working at home. Perhaps you should hide or go out and get a tattoo or do whatever the Trumpers do. Study history if you are NOT like the non reading illiterate President.

    3. @Whirlwind S Firstly, I respect you because you do work and don’t expect our government to take care of you.. I wanna clarify that off the rip. I am not hiding although many are as well as blaming this whole situation on the president. What about the fact that the former administration sent millions to the bio lab in Wuhan china in 2015? That doesn’t seem to throw up a red flag to many ppl and its insane… The hatred created for our commander in chief is unacceptable and actually totally ridiculous. Any single decision he’s made has been ridiculed, even placing flight restrictions as early as January. He was ofcourse called racist. The cdc and the who are given a pass for all of their negligence because we are living in times that the media can lie and report anything they want to dumb ppl down because obama passed a bill giving them permission to do so. That should scare everyone but no… ppl actually trust them??? This virus exists but it’s not near as deadly as the liberal media has constantly panicked the ppl over.. They have a job to destroy the president, the economy and I’m shocked that more don’t research these things.. The liberals want NWO and will stop at nothing to get it. Idk what ppl are gonna say when they do regain power and they see all of this unfold.. it will be too late meanwhile the left wants us all divided so we won’t stand together, only against eachother.. its sickening really..

    4. @BJ flight restrictions? From China?
40.000 arrived from China after his so called ban.
      Trumps a joke .
      Toast.

    5. @Higgs Boson China specifically sent tens of thousands of ppl all over the world knowing this virus was transmitted person to person. Trump is not a health advisor and idk what the haters expected of him, considering everything would be ridiculed anyway but he has continued to do what he thinks is right for the ppl. We must open our economy and stop hiding in our homes or we won’t have a country at all.

  3. Winding down the task force, so as the numbers rocket up, there won’t be any answering for it,by the Whitehouse.

    1. @Will Peyton ~ 700,000 deaths? That’s roughly about 2.8M over 12 months out of 340’ish M.
Could you please cite your source. The devil is always in the detail.

    2. @Will Peyton ~ *I agree with your analysis.* Everything you observed is equally valid across every 24/7 news service. Put succintly, the news is a paragraph. The book is the ‘Chinese Whispers’ iterative interpretation of interpretations. By the end of the book a flying pig gave birth to a unicorn.

IMHO Twitter has been the death of reason and loss ofcritical thought. The trend began before that with the demise of longform (Broad Sheet) news papers in which journalists reported on something newsworthy and the body contained ancilliary material relating to the news. The body being a thoghtful argument which required critical reasoning to sift various ideas.

In my first year of undergraduate study, students were required to read all major news sources before the first lecture. Critical reading takes time and effort plus the intelectual curiosity to read different ideological journals and deeper nonfiction books. I’ve grown used to reading a few books a week covering a range of perspectives. Sad to say that my (now) adult children would be hard pressed to read a single book.

As citizens of the world how can we claim ownership of knowledge unless we first understand different points of view from a wide range of sources. I’m saying that what passes for contemporary news is predigested for those with little desire to think for themselves.

Freedom of the press is a pale shadow of its original intent: a contest of ideas.

    3. @AUTONOMEN x ~ I want to understand the point that you’re trying to make. There’s a jumble of mixed metaphors getting in each other’s way. Could you please try to help me understand the point you wanted me to consider? Thanks, Mike

    4. @AUTONOMEN x your analogy falls flat because no one is intentionally trying to hurt people or damage property.
      This is a global tragedy.
Many difficult decisions have to be made at times like this.
A prolonged shut down could be more harmful than the virus ever could have been.
      Its a balancing act
You like analogies so here is one for you.
If a patient has cancer a doctor might want to use chemotherapy to fight it but too much chemo will cause the patient to suffer unnecessarily or even die.
Have you been tracking the antibody testing over 80% of people in the hotspots have had it.
Data is now coming out that says places that locked down hard have the same infection rates as places that didn’t.

  4. Why is he getting away with openly encouraging rebellion in at least three states? Let old people die. Let the weak die. Over 70K dead. How did he let this happen? It’s China. It’s Obama, for not being able to see the future. Eventually, he’ll start blaming aliens from another galaxy. Good thing we have that space force!

    1. how is it Trumps fault, the Kung Flu didnt come from his house, it came from China, and China LIED

    2. @Gregory Everson No one said T-Rump was responsible for the virus. Just his own total incompetence.

    3. People need to go back and refresh themselves in biology. Like middle school biology. It’s mind boggling that such stupidity exist in the so called greatest country in the world. This will be the Spanish Flu pandemic all over again.

    4. Weak people are weak, and weakness wont be tolerated nor respected in America. If you want to be weak, go move to france or canada

    5. How is he not aware that he is elderly with underlying problems. He’s obese, probably suffering high blood pressure, lousey diet and possibly dementia. He will not even use a mask! I really hope covid19 pays him a visit.

  5. Being an “essential employee” is horrifying. Now Georgia is open partially, allowing the spread. What was the point of being “heros” if we are going to undo all we have worked for?

    1. @Mike C my fear isn’t in the virus. My fear is in knowing what is going to happen. Well there be enough food for this nation to get through this? Right now, yes, but 8 months? What about a year? I also recommend watching a video by Joe Scott here in YouTube. He has a TMI video from a couple weeks ago about the “hero” thing.

    2. @TheWin200000 I went from a full time, 40+ hours a week to 16, sometimes 20. I’m broke. I barely can afford to live and my company won’t assist the 5 people not getting enough hours. I am with a crew of 3 on night shift, but we are expected to work like a crew of 8. I can’t find another job, and I can’t quit. I was making more as a cashier. And when this is is over, you, and everyone that has worked though this will get no help. Just like the warriors of our past, Vietnam war veterans, get no help. They give their lives and end up homeless with no assistance, we will be the same. Labeled as “heroes” and treated like such in this country.

    3. @Omega Lightning ~ Cool. We’re both on the same page. I saw farmers plowing crops of produce into the ground because of the complete failure of the national government to plan and lead. In every competent national government their macroeconomic role is to step in as the “buyer of last resort” to protect the economy. Trump’s ignorance is lethal. Most modern cities have, at any time, enough food to last 9-14 days. It’s a function of Just In Time inventory. The pandemic is exposing the insanity of ideological capitalism.

There is a highly efficient logistics operation that can easily be retasked to ensure rapid movement of produce across the nation but it’s been ignored. COVID revealed the lie about paying workers the least amount yet executive salaries increase far above inflation. The national government stimulus payment was a bandaid on a gaping wound. Developed economies can do far more if they have sane national leaders which isn’t the case in America.

By 8 months the virus should be close to burning out. Herd immunity will kick in and the number of new cases will fall. It works like the boron control rods in nuclear reactors. Fission is supressed because atomic particals are absorbed by boron before they have a chance to split uranium or plutonium atoms which releases lots of heat to turn water into superheated gas that cause massive turbines to spin and create electricity. Chernobyl went into meltdown (the nuclear core was exposed while control rods were unable to drop) which happens when the nuclear fuel goes into runaway fission. It can get so hot that it melts through concrete and bedrock: the “China Syndrome”. The virus started because it was unknown within our bodies and went “China Syndrome” before we knew what happened. The lockdown functioned like control rods to stop hospitals from collapsing under an evergrowing patient load.

Trump’s behaviour suggests the acceptance of a massive death toll as a sunk cost. I don’t know if those most likely to die (60 and above) are pro or anti Trump. I hope that isn’t a factor.

    4. @Mike C my parents are truck drivers otr. They have seen the same things in the fields and their company is one of the few still in operation. That means less drivers moving as much cargo as they can. The average age of a truck driver is, if I recall correctly, about 50. That puts our supply chain in jeopardy. If these few companies have an outbreak, the group mentality will kick in and shut the trucking industry down. Then who will move our food, petrol, or anything to keep people alive? The death toll for the virus will be nothing to the numbers from the lack of food and supplies.

Our leadership isn’t helping either. With the CDC not getting to speak, people are questioning and when they don’t get an answer, the average person will make something up that “has good points” and believe it. My boss thought this virus was a hoax that was to cover up a meteor heading for Earth. No one knows what is true or what to believe. It’s social chaos.

  6. Winding down the task force seems like a move from someone who is not with us but rather against us.

  7. There is an ‘NRA’, it’s Wall Street. Big money is always the driving force in politics.

  8. Our President has decided to “Wash Ones Hands” as he passes off the onus of future deaths to the states. As pawns in a deadly game of chess. The governors of our states will be given this cross to bear.
Thousands of years has rendered this idiom with the figurative meaning of refusing to take responsibility or the blame for the outcome of one poor decision after another. Now there is a hint to close his task force whom have been the only solace for a confused and yearning public.
Our modern day Pontius Pilate, as many in our country are condemned to death, but not before he passes the buck to China for delivering. As Trump has said.“I am innocent of the deaths of our citizens: States see ye to it.” (Matthew 27:24,). Please vote this November.

  9. Huge difference in the 2, with gun violence you don’t usually get a 3 month warning it’s going to shoot 60,000+ people and ignore the message

  10. When talking about sacrifices, why not sacrifice a President and a few enablers? That should make the gods happy, shouldn’t it?

  11. Incompetence in government is expected in America! Lousy leadership and lies the new normal..

  12. “NEWSCASTERS stating the blinding obvious”. Will somebody just put a straightjacket on this President before he kills everyone? The guy is committing Genocide and there should be another Nuremburg for this President to be trialled and properly punished.

    1. Huangspal 🇬🇧 He would have been flung out of any other country’s State building.

  13. Just watch somehow they’ll say it was Obama’s fault in June for opening the country up.

  14. I just want to know when is Trump going to sacrifice his family, we are all in this together right?

  15. We are all pawns in a political and financial game to reward the wealthy and corrupt politicians. They don’t give a crap about us.

  16. How long, how long America, do you want to hear these lies?

When are you finally firing Donald Trump?
