    1. @Patty Cakes I’m sure that makes Breonna Taylor’s family feel better that it’s usually reserved for violent criminals and that it’s a rare situation. You’d be singing a different tune if that was your daughter.

    2. Karen’s all over the Country will lose their minds because they can’t Just Make up False Stories about Black people and hurt Minorities because they feel that the System will cover them

  1. This is what matters, not defunding the police. Get rid of qualified immunity and police brutality will plummet immediately.

    1. What a bunch of treasonous ASSWIPES, I WANT TO SEE EVERYONE AT MSNBC TRIED , CONVICTED AND SENTENCED TO DEATH. DON’T OUTLAW LYNCHING YET!!

    2. Tony P You don’t understand the meaning of defunding do you? You should look into you city’s annual budget and tell me why the police gets 50% – 60% of an entire city’s budget.

    3. @Paul Wilson You say that as if it’s a bad thing… we have at least 2x the cops we really need.

  2. Arrest those who COVER UP for bad cops.
We already have laws in the books. Minneapolis’ chief o police, medical examiner, etc.
No need for this “show” by Congress. Arrest ALL the BAD APPLES.

    1. Your talking about the Police Strong-Arm Unions. These are lawyer run unions that put the Public in jeopardy. This Country is built on Unions. But NOT this way. Negotiate and Legislate is your answer.

    2. It’s TRUE about the unions, also there are many cover ups by the higher ups, with never gets investigated.

  3. If I had known that I could be cop, judge, jury and executioner, I would have gotten into law enforcement instead of Culinary Arts, nah I would never hear “that’s the best killing I have ever seen” but as a Chef I do hear “That’s the best I have ever had”.

    1. A chef is more honorable than a cop. They have ethics and integrity. At least you’re supposed to. It was that way when I was doing it. Especially under a brigade system. The Exec would throw a pan at your head for any less. You are only as good as your last meal.

  4. Don’t reform it eliminate it! I was just about to give this dude props for being a brave man smh both republicans and democrats agree on this one.

  5. This perfectly frames the problems in congress. Our representatives should ALWAYS vote their conscience.
Large swaths of Congress are corrupt and ineffective because party and personal elections are placed before duty to the Nation

  6. GOP politicians will sell their cheap souls to get re-elected. voting their conscience
is impossible when there is no soul. vote out the whole pack of wolves.

  7. Qualified immunity is music to the ears of any racists who join the local police for the sole reason of being able to harass minorities.

    1. @Tim Ivey
I don’t see many “black” police killing with such frequency, per capita.

      Why is that ?

  8. Start taking their pensions and retirement money, to pay off the lawsuits and I bet a lot of these unjustified police killings would stop.

  9. Many of these officers are more interested in confrontation than conversation. Bad cops put targets on the backs of good cops. Same can be said of the protesters. 60% decent, 20% rotten, 20% just goin with the flow.

  10. These guys, the senator and the panel are reinforcing a myth about the police which gets in the way of reform, which is about how dangerous policing is. In reality, according to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, policing doesn’t even make the top-ten list of most dangerous jobs in the US. It doesn’t even make the top twenty (you’ll have to download the spreadsheet in the link below for that data point).
But as long as the myth persists, we believe the cops should be armed with military weapons and armor; we believe them when they tell us that they shot someone because they thought their life ‘was in danger’; we believe them when they say it’s really dangerous ‘out there’, and that reforming the police on any level will compromise their safety. But it’s just not true.
The press and politicians have to stop propagating this myth if we want to real change in policing.

  11. Republicans are a waste fo space – they showed that when they supported Agolf Twillter in a fixed trial

  12. There should be no immunity from the law for anyone in this land. We are to be the land of liberty & justice for all. Nice to see a Republican with a since of morality in the era Trump.
