Senators work overnight voting on health and climate bill

The US Senate worked through the night voting on amendments for the Democrats' sweeping health care and climate change bill. The bill would be the largest climate investment in US history. The bill would also extend Obamacare subsidies three years and give Medicare the ability to negotiate prices on certain prescription drugs. #CNN #News

    1. As someone who used to work overnights; the overnight crews not only never get applauded but usually end up taking a lot of blame when day crew decide to deny something is their fault.

    2. @JPL There are things in the bill I don’t like, and I don’t like how it’s getting push through. Other than that I can agree with you.

    3. @P Ken I agree that not everything is perfect. But similarly as being on the team requires some compromises (as at times not everything is to each team players liking) but common points are what makes team work.
Majority of America wants ‘US team’ to work just that Russian born and by likes of Bannon, Trump etc. implanted misinformation makes teaming up so painful at the moment. But as all false things this shall pass too.

  1. People work 12+ for American infrastructure every day. Such drama that Congress is actually working .. it should be normal that Congress works hard for us

    1. @TheNextGenius We need to repeal the 17th amendment. Senators would better represent the state as a whole and not just 2 or 3 cities.

    2. @yareklipinski yea I work part time I’m lucky enough to be able to spend time with my kids most of the day, most people just wanna be lazy and put in the minimum. I use to work 12 hr days but found a way to make more doing less find the path of least resistance

  2. Senators definition – a group of people with an adult image representing a party colored red or blue while being kids in front of the world.

  3. I love it when a politician uses the “comprehensive bills”, that really means my donors will be repaid three times over.

    1. @Wolverine Hoosier The insult came from Donald Trump, his words not mine. I guess I should of used the correct version which is…

“We won the evangelicals. We won with young. We won with old. We won with highly educated. We won with poorly educated. I love the poorly educated,” he said during his victory speech in Nevada…

    1. And I’ve worked all shifts, holidays, weekends and my patients appreciate it. That’s enough for me.

    2. you might have to work 4 after this, in that bill was a climate tax and if you live in a busy place also upto a $20 daily congestion charge.

    1. get ready for the new taxes, climate tax is in that bill and if you live in a big city get ready for the daily congestion charge.

  4. Imagine being so lazy as a legislative body, that it makes the news you’ve worked for “8 straight hours”…pathetic.

  5. They sure work hard to spend our money.. remember when it took months to debate giving the citizens some?? These criminals need to go…

    1. That is not big money dude. what is the salary of a senator? should have been a million! it is pathetic to be honest.

  6. It’s amazing how quick everyone works right before election season… otherwise nothing gets done

    1. Geez moog, wtf? Schumer has been working on this all along – just like Garand has been working on trump behind the scenes

    1. Yup, working overnight means they are up to no good. These people don’t like to work 9 to 5 on any given day!!!

    2. @Lexi’s Mom of. They don’t. 9-5 is for poor people, as defined by the rich; the rich’s definition of a poor person is a working person that has to work 40 hours a week to survive. And these senators are literally filthy, rich

  7. I work 12 hour days, 7days a week, mandatory overtime on my weekends for the past 6 months of straight heat, no ac & they complaining about 8 hour overnight shift voting on a bill chilling in Air condition? I love this country 😒

    1. Yikes, that sounds pretty tough! You’re working two full-time jobs?? Hope you don’t have to do that much longer!

  8. 10 hours daily for me and I don’t expect to be applauded or congratulated, but I would like my tax dollars spent wisely and not end back up in the career politicians bank accounts.

  9. I find it funny how now they can work overnight but when we actually needed help during Covid they decided they needed a vaca

  10. Wow they worked 8 straight hours inside an air conditioned room while sitting down. What hard working and amazing people we have in our government.

  11. If working ‘overnight’ was supposed to be the catchphrase, might as well just said ‘senators WORKED’

    1. Actually, senators work incredibly long hours, and harder than any of us could possibly imagine.

Of course, it’s time mainly spent raising money from their big fat cat donors, but it’s still work nonetheless. (lol)

  12. Love how they say they have been working 8 straight hrs in a marathon session. Ummm isn’t that a normal work day for Americans?
