Social mobility: Should unpaid internships be banned?

Figures released by social mobility groups suggest many people do not believe they have a fair chance of moving up the ladder. Paul Callanan from Youth Fight For Jobs and Sam Bowman from the Adam Smith Institute debate whether unpaid internships should be banned.

  1. Yes, most companies don’t do them legally, and just use them for unpaid
    labor rather than the school like teaching positions they are supposed to
    be.

  2. The job centre call these free labour experience jobs “experience” when in
    fact it’s their way of getting people off the job centre books
