This is an election for the position of the highest position of power in the world… not a girl power token on the stage of #SheToo awards.
Anybody who goes into this thing voting from a perspective of identity politics hoping for some grand “kumbaya moment” may have to be resigned to accepting that your status may be locked to your grievance for a very long time. The level heads in the room were the people who understood the gravity of this race and had a clear bead on the necessity to focus on the most vital priorities. I’m all for progress but first the country needs to clean house before it concerns itself over making sure the curtains match the drapes.
Also it is important to pay attention to the facts as they present themselves. The earlier caucuses revealed that the “meme generation” (on who’s existence energy the progressive movement depends) opted to forego voting once again chose “Netflix and chill” with intermittent updates to their whining wall when GOT hit a “boring” exposition dump over going out to vote. Perhaps they just figured that this Corona thing has gone viral and it was easier to join the Zombie Apocalypse than to pitch in to fight it. Fear the Walking Wounded.
