    1. What Canadians? One Squadron (soon renumbered to 401 Squadron) – participated. In 53 days of combat. That was the extent of Canadian participation in The Battle of Britain. A total of 71 squadrons took part in the Battle of Britain. A total of 145 experienced and battle-hardened Polish airmen fought in the Battle of Britain –  in various RAF squadrons, 32 in No.302 (Polish) Fighter Squadron and 34 in No.303  (Polish) Fighter Squadron. It wasn’t mentioned because of the sensitivity to Canadians of having virtually no one there.
