The emails from Joe Biden encouraging his son in rehab are sweet. They’re human. They’re relatable. Addiction has impacted millions of American families, including the Bidens. It reassures me that Joe would do right by those of us who also have a loved one battling addiction. I don’t really care about the nepotism or corruption. Trump’s corrupt too and his kids have clearly amassed wealth and power just because of their proximity to the President. As far as I’m concerned, we are going to have four more years of a corrupt president regardless of who wins. But at least we can have a corrupt person who seems like a normal, sane, empathic human being.
