Reagan’s words have run thru my head several times over the past three years. The shining city on the hill. the big tent, and the face of God speech especially. And I’m not even Republican.

@christopher weise You’re right. But I think the low attendance at the Tulsa rally might indicate that some of Trump’s followers have realized how little regard he has for them. He invited them to fill a 19,000 seat convention center, with masks optional. His campaign aides were recorded on video removing stickers from seats that would have encouraged social distancing. And when Trump gave his speech, he said nothing about the fact that large numbers of people were sitting close together and many rows of seats were entirely empty. He could have asked people to spread out. He is willing to put the lives of his followers at risk rather than admit that he hasn’t solved the coronavirus problem.
