  1. If you have to pat down a child every day because of behavior or possible threat. That kid should not be in that school or any school.

    1. @zw a I let’s fine to support Ukraine but we don’t need to be writing them blank checks with no accountability while we have people living in the streets, soaring crime and growing poverty in our own backyard.

  2. These mass shooting events have lost its shock value. It’s such an everyday occurrence that nobody even acts surprised anymore. So sad that this has become a part of American culture.😔

    1. @Andrew Pinson Andrew, you are entitled to your views, but from my standpoint that’s not what I see. I see one party that offers individuality through better state education, health care and equality. That is not control, it is equalisation of rights for all, of raising quality of life. (At least that’s the way I see it). The other implies freedom, but this is a ruse, it’s simply a way of pandering to some, on a superficial level, whilst allowing the real power to be in the hands of a rich elite minority. Just consider who are the main backers of the GOP? Look at the tax situation, more was added to the national debt during 45’s leadership than any other time, who benefitted most? The rich, look it up yourself. Gun deaths are far higher in republican states than democrat (this is the meaning of the word..”1. a person who believes in and upholds government by the people; advocate of rule by the majority. 2. a person who believes in and practices the principle of equality of rights, opportunity, and treatment) ones. There are many reasons for that as you know, but being feed lies about different races and their aims is probably one of many. I will not get into an argument about the second amendment “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed”, because many would say that this is not the freedom as is presently espoused by the gun lobby, who simply have a vested interest, whatever the negative impact. At the end of the day, there is still a democracy in the USA though one party seems to be unhappy about that, which is simply another example of the attempt to wrest power from the people to the elite. I am not affected by any of these things, so I feel that I can judge in a fairly agnostic way, whilst comparing what happens in other countries. I wish you and your nation well.

    2. @AbbersJ Yes we disagree completely. I am aware of who the power makers are on both sides. To say the elite money wise are stacked on one side is not true. And yes I know because I have been following this for over fifty years as a hobby. Neither side has a upper hand of equality of rights and opportunities. This is capitalism you go out and make your way. I am against most easements due to race or gender. I also do not think there should be disqualifications because of race or gender. I do NOT believe in the quota system that every job, business etc. should represent every little degree of difference. I have several things that people could use as an excuse to say I deserve help, but I have never used that as to say people owe me a damned thing. As cruel as it might sound survival of the fittest should play a small deal in humans as well. You can still help out those less fortunate, but putting them above others just to meet quotas I disagree with. And the health and medicine offered by each party gives neither a leg to stand on. Pharmaceuticals and both parties are corrupt as hell. I know all about each parties attempts over the years to buy votes, know how it is done, and know how elections are stolen from and by each party. I have followed them all the way from Kennedy on. I do not know a great deal about other nations politics/media/government but I do the US.

    3. @Andrew Pinson It seems that you believe in “The law of the jungle”. I don’t, how that is administered on a fair basis is the big question I suppose.
My best wishes to you Andrew.

  3. From South Africa 🇿🇦.
    National population 67 million people.

Have had zero shootings at any schools in the 42 years I have been alive.

    It never ever happens.

Only police and criminals (unfortunately) have guns in my country.

Something is really wrong with how the United States handles guns.🤦

    1. you need to stay out of our rights you said criminals still have them that is our point plus we hunt for part of our food supply

  4. This is the craziest thing I’ve heard all week. How? Why? I mean if they were already fearful that he was going to bring a weapon to school perhaps him coming to school wasn’t the best idea. But I guess hindsight is 20/20. I hope the victims make a quick recovery… my heart goes out to them. Very sad.

    1. Fools and cowards (see Uvalde) are in charge of security at schools, thats the problem! School admins such as Sups and Principals have no clue about security protocol, and to do so could scare people they say. Give me a break! First thing to do there is a dress code. What in the hellllll are those kids wearing to school. Tucked in polo shirts for all, no baggie junk that looks ridiculous anyway to help in deterring concealment. No backpacks, texts provided in the classroom and or their safety net computer provided, just need something to write on. One entry and one exit, both guarded and one additional guard to roam. Waaaallaaaa, done, huge improvement just like that!! Imagine…..

    2. @Sew_Gal You cant deny this and youre not wrong! Kids coming out of public schools these days are a doozie. Parents also need to do their job at home, they get a pass far too often.

  5. It was up to the parents to deliver this student to school fully in compliance with the conditions placed upon him to be at that school with other kids and staff. The school should be the secondary checkpoint. This just seemed like an incident waiting to happen.

    1. Parents should be held accountable for all school shootings. I mean given the same charges (if they supplied their kid with a gun, on purpose or not, or did something else like that). That way people will make sure their kids never get their hands on a gun

  6. A student had to go through a DAILY safety check?!!

    Why wasn’t he in incarcerated??

Any student that needs to have a daily safety check is a danger to the community!!! He should not be allowed in a school.

  7. If u have to pat down a student everyday for a safety plan, why the F*CK is he enrolled in the school. What is going on, who allowed this

  8. My heart goes out to the families ❤️. I live in a country where guns are forbidden and crime is almost zero. I don’t understand how people goes around with guns. In schools?😭 So the guns are used to kill? To protect from the constants attacks?😢 Be safe all of you

    1. @Candida Prout I suspect your low crime rate is more due to a homogeneous population and a high-trust culture than gunz. Lots of guns in Switzerland and their crime rate is far below the rapidly degenerating UK, where there are no guns except for the criminal class. Speaks volumes.

  9. If you have a child who needs to be searched every day for weapons they should never be at or near the school, but on a restrictive in home schooling with a solid therapy sessions attached. The home environment and family should be interviewed and if needed intervened. Wake up and do your jobs. Peace to the World.

    1. Exactly right! The school is in part liable for this shooting. They had foreknowledge he was a threat, escalated the whole thing, and did nothing to prevent it from happening.

    2. @Sydni DowneyYou mean the mom. The dad is likely not involved in the child’s life and probably locked up.

  10. in my days when I had to walk 10 miles in the snow to get to school, just telling a teacher a piece of your mind was big news. the evolution of student teacher conflict.

  11. So exactly what do you have to do nowadays to get expelled from school mow down an entire room of students? We used to get kicked out for our hair being to long.😂

  12. I just graduated from east (this school) last year and I will say that I am horrified but it was only a matter of time. There was another shooting earlier this semester (a student was shot outside) and there were very regular lock downs over the last couple years I was there. It is incredibly sad to see and it demonstrates the need for much stricter gun legislation to prevent this from happening in the future. My friends who still go there do not feel safe in school anymore and this is just unacceptable.

    1. @Fragile_minded how about at least trying to change this “culture” craving for guns. I am not just talking about regulations

    2. @sCamPa we should also change police culture but thats not happening anytime soon also as much as i would love for police violence to change but it never happens even as much as we want something to 😪

    3. @Fragile_minded if rules and regulations won’t work as you claim then why have they consistently worked in other countries? You still haven’t addressed that point without resorting to whataboitisim (the idea of saying well if you advocate for x then what about y) with your idea of drunk driving. This is not a valid criticism as it does not address the actual evidence. Please just answer me this, why is it that the US has the loosest gun regulations of any developed nation and also the highest number of gun deaths per capita by far? Why is it that gun reform and regulations work in every country except the US? Let’s look at a country with a similar historical gun culture to the US, Austrilia. Austrilia passed gun legislation in response to a mass shooting and it has resulted in a significant reduction in gun related deaths compared to even the previous level, not to mention compared to the US. I’m not saying gun control will entirely stop all mass shootings or school shootings, what I am saying is that all of the avaliable evidence shows that it would greatly reduce the number of these incidents and it would save lives. So please tell me why every other developed nation, even those with a long history of gun ownership can successfully save lives through gun control laws but the same laws wouldn’t work in the US?

    4. @Chwriter that would be a communist country like i said my guy 🤣 im not gona argue though anymore cause you know im right nothing will happen as much as anyone wants it to cause this my friend is the United States don’t like it? Then like i said maybe you’re in the wrong country my boy lol good day to you kid enjoy the blue pill

  13. If you feel a student is such a danger that you need to pat them down everyday before going to school, they shouldn’t be going to school. But i bet everybody will ignore the incompetence and irresponsibility since its much easier to blame guns

  14. This is horrific. As someone who started high school in 1978 I would never have thought we’d be dealing with mass shootings in our future. My heart hurts for our youth.
Originally from Houston, moved to Denver in 1997 and was at home the day of the Columbine shootings. Actually worked with the daughter of teacher Dave Sanders.
What is our world coming to?

    1. I’m in school somewhat near Houston right now, and these stories are scary! However, my campus has invested heavily into a meaningful police presence. Even though it doesn’t stop the periodic online threat, I feel safe!

  15. I used to live in the park there on Josephine. The faculty and students were always such good people. I’m no longer homeless, thank goodness, all those people and lights would make it hard to keep low-key. I hope everyone survives this.

  16. The horrible thing about this is that incidents like this have become so common in some places that kids and adults all over have become desensitized to this kind of thing happening.

    1. And every time, the rest of the world has a lower opinion of the US. (written from Germany)
