Swalwell: Congress’ Job Until Election Day Is To Be ‘Ankle Monitor’ On Trump Administration | MSNBC

Former Manhattan U.S. Attorney Geoffrey Berman outlined how he was pressured to resign by Attorney General William Barr in a closed House Judiciary Committee hearing. Chairman Nadler said, “We don't know yet if the Attorney General's conduct is criminal, but that kind of quid pro quo gets awfully close to bribery.” Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA), who was in the hearing, joins Lawrence O’Donnell to react. Aired on 7/09/2020.

  1. We need to vote EARLY, mail in your ballot as soon as you can because republicans are going to try and cheat on election day…
They can’t deny when Joe gets millions of votes a month early!

    1. What everyone needs to do is FORGET ABOUT THE POLLS. Vote as if your one vote is the difference between a Biden presidency, and 4 more years of Bunkerboi. I’ll stand in line all day if necessary…we can’t afford another 4 years of Trump’s incompetence, criminality, and a total lack of leadership. Besides, I want to see that fat sack of slime roasted in the courts next year.

    2. @Mr Jones Excellent point We all need to get behind the man who promises higher taxes, late term abortion, and open borders along with more entitlements regardless of immigration status. Trump is orange therefore let’s elect a guy who is in the early stages of dementia and will do whatever he is told by his handlers.

    3. @Kary Herndon I’d consider voting for Swalwell if he’d let rip again during a live tv interview on cnn. That was awesome.

    1. @esj8341 Dereliction is Mitch’s specialty; tRump is guilty of obstruction and all sorts of other crimes. I don’t have time to list them.

    2. @james jones You believe Trump is guilty of obstruction of something even though he has never been convicted. Correct?

    3. @esj8341 He was impeached for it because he is guilty of it, and numerous R senators admitted as much. Just go away, troll.

  2. There is a count down on Trump’s freedom now. He will be more dangerous than ever. Eyes up, everybody!

    1. @wims58ej Wrong. God hasn’t stopped watching and when the time is right trump will get his many times over.

    2. Expect even more chaos leading up to Nov. Trump is not just a cornered dog, but a cornered rabid dog.

  3. I can’t believe it took til 2020 to confirm something that any high school student that took civics already knew. The President isn’t above the law.

    1. @esj8341 If they had anything , anything at all they would shout it from the rooftops, Barr has already said he won’t be going near Obama or Biden ( as if he could ) and Durham has kicked back twice already about being ‘ misquoted ‘ . Durham is a joke , like Benghazi was .

    2. He is above the law. Nothing is going to happen before he is being kicked out the wh. No tax returns for the house its a disgrace cause sc said no oversight.

    3. @Don Adams thats exactly the reason gop doesnt want him to be above the law. They are afraid of the next president holding them accountable

  4. I do believe that Mr. Swalwell will make a fine president someday. I do hope he runs again in the future.

    1. yet you keep approving stimulus packages that dont help regular people …you are equal criminals but you also want to control words and thought …you support groups that align with farrakhan . blinded echo chamber morons.

    2. @esj8341 Actually people rot in jail daily on less circumstantial evidence than we have on Trump.

    3. @ashley gordon Well honey maybe you should buy enough common sense to see taxes and financials before voting someone into office.

  5. Barr protected the criminals involved in the Iran-Contra affair and made a career of protecting corrupt GOP administrations. Barr is the toxic glue that has held corrupt GOP leaders together. Today Barr has the DOJ morphed into a criminal enterprise.

    1. I wish we had a better Primary Voting system that worked in rounds through National voting days. The first vote would reduce candidates to the top 5 or so by National popular votes. The 2nd day of voting would reduce the candidates to two. Then after that, one candidate would win the last round by a 3rd NATIONAL popular vote.

  6. Trump is doing what any career criminal would do if he had the power.
Trump will be remembered as a diehard nincompoop, and the most TREMENDOUSLY corrupt president in American history.

    1. @cindy clarke Settlements are not admissions of guilt. It’s possible the parties settled because of wrongdoing but it’s also possible Trump didn’t want to deal with the cost of litigation or bad press.

    2. @esj8341 So trump didn’t have a fake university and charity ?? Get real trump’s been fake all his life nothing about trump is real

    3. @esj8341 We can start with having a fraudulent charity shut down under court order while in office. You see dear I have a professional license and mine can be yanked for both illegal and unethical actions. He obstructed a legitimate Federal discover within his first two months of office . It isn’t anybody’s problem that you have the ethical compass of a syphilitic vagina .

    1. Donnie has already gone scorched earth on America. His only plan for the pandemic is holding rallies to increase the spread. His only plan for military safety is to ignore the bounties scandal. His only plan for justice is to punish his enemies and exonerate his friends. His only plan for integrity is to fire inspectors general and refuse to cooperate with Congressional investigations.

  7. My God could Trump and Barr be more corrupt. I think we need to thank Berman! I wish he was back there.

    1. Trump picked Berman and probably thought he could be bought but found out that wasn’t the case so he had to go. SAD!

    2. @Laura D Bermans deputy what’s her name, has replaced him and im sure she will gut Trump and Barr like a dead fish.

  8. “Ankle Monitor”on the Trump administration. What a fabulous turn of phrase. Keep using that!!!

  9. Having Congress be the ankle monitor on Donnie doesn’t make me feel any better. Moscow Mitch has to go first.

  10. The fish rots from the head down, Attorney General Barr one rotten blowfish. Donald J Trump one rotten sea snake

  11. So, America, what it is like having a totally corrupt president and attorney general in office ?
    The world is watching.

  12. This LIAR-IN-CHIEF president has proven himself to be above the law, no matter what is actually said, even by the Supreme Court…… GOD KEEP US SAFE FROM tRump and the Republicans.
