Sykes: Trump Allies ‘Not Embarrassed To Be Pedaling Lines That Are Debunked' | MTP Daily | MSNBC

    1. The pardon of Nixon was unconstitutional. Also, the Constitution doesn’t provide Resignation as a “get out of jail free” provision for corrupt government officials to avoid criminal prosecution.

    1. @Kaleb Williams Yup, another illegal aspect they can add to the impeachment inquiry. Inciting violence against fellow American citizens.

    2. there has always been more democrats…problem is, they stay home in key states, where it really matters

  1. This 🇺🇸 debacle is why the rest of the world barely “tolerates” 🇺🇸WOW – 🇺🇸the “ banana republic” of corruption and stupidity- if Trump remains in office everyone deserves the destruction that 🇺🇸 is inevitable

    1. Judi Marcin – you dream, the money is protected, they will throw his body to the rabid dog pack to eviscerate come the time and all will be filigreed like it never happened.

  2. *Who cares if impeachment unifies Trump voters..?* _So what..?_ They’re outnumbered 2-to-1 in America. The impeachment is also unifying everyone else AGAINST Trump. Plus, it will generate another huge voter turnout like we saw in 2018, particularly among younger voters. Trump’s base are SMALL AND WEAK at this point. How they feel and how they vote is effectively unimportant.

    1. If the president has 40% of adults in his corner, he has upwards of 100 million potential voters there. Hillary got 66 million votes last time. And lost. Let’s imagine the Democrat this time gets 70 million. If two-thirds of Trump supporters actually for vote him, he can lose the popular vote and win the Electoral College again, depending on the turnout in PA, WI, MI, NC. That’s why he continues to pander to his base. How many Democrats will actually vote for Trump? Almost none. How many independent votes is he going to win? As many as last time? Probably not. But if he can get 70% of his base to turn out… Yes, it means that the Democratic candidate also needs a 70% turnout. How to get that (Hillary showed us that by running against Trump as a bad man, you lose) is the question. Trump is unpopular overall, but he will do his best to make the Democratic candidate just as unacceptable to a majority of voters.

    1. Actually, it probably started earlier. They probably simply never read the Constitution or they did not understand its message. Nor did they read the Declaration of Independence or, again, they did not understand its message.
I read both. And I’m not even American nor do I even live in the USA.

    2. @UCLs-zwOMDNwWaTa8dI4qsjA:  It could be but doesn’t have to be either of those.  They don’t _want_ to read the transcript because it will tell them something they don’t want to hear.  Trump created his following (building on 40 years of Republicanism starting with Reagan’s wishful pronouncements about the USA to defeat Carter’s sober and sobering facts) by insisting that we not seek and adhere to facts, especially not to “inconvenient truths” that don’t fit the narrative that feeds their want to be vindicated, to be able to go, “Nyah, hah, hah.  Now we’ve got you.”  If Democrats want to save our representative democracy, they have got to avoid doing the same thing, displaying the same “Nyah, hah, hah.  We were right; you were wrong, so there!” attitude, even when that is proved to be the case.  So far, most Democratic politicians have done a pretty good job of reining themselves in these past three years and the party has been rewarded at the ballot box. They’re not confronting Trump to prove how stupid Republican voters have been, because Republican voters are still American voters and are not going away.  That’s not the way to get them to nominate sensible candidates in the future.   Some Democratic commenters on pages like this, are less restrained.  We’ve got to stop making comments for the purpose of making ourselves feel good.  That’s exactly what Trump wants. Republicans have shown themselves to be both bad winners and bad losers.  Democrats have to attack on issues and keep the facts front and center as often as Trump and his cronies keep their lies front and center, in order to make the case for solving problems, not feeling superior to those who would solve those problems a different way.  Once everyone is focused on solving problems rather than feeling self-satisfied, compromise is possible, just as it used to be.

  3. Wow!!! Talk about being drunk on the kool aid. Why listen to morons like Limbaugh and beck, not to mention fox news. Can they just form a separate colony for their cult, outside of the democracy we call USA?

  4. …and yet again Conservative media/propaganda tells their audience not to believe their own eyes and ears, even after the Wh confirmed it with the transcript. I wonder if there will come a point where Conservatives will understand exactly who is being lied to and fed fake news?

    1. This quote from Orwell’s 1984 is particularly relevant: “The party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command. His heart sank as he thought of the enormous power arrayed against him, the ease with which any Party intellectual would overthrow him in debate, the subtle arguments which he would not be able to understand, much less answer. And yet he was in the right! They were wrong and he was right. ” The republican party have certainly done their best to recreate 1984 in 2019.

    1. Vivo Cano – go and have a long look at Murdoch’s Australian news services, he has been obfuscating the public to the reason of all else to the point that they know of nothing else, they have drunk the communal wine, listened to the diatribe, they believe, it’s his purpose, go see for yourselves, please?

    2. Jamie H I have to disagree with you on that one, it’s not the teachers job to teach moral and principles; it’s the parents job. math, calculus, chemistry and physics are the same here, in Germany and Japan. My fellow Americans are too busy making money and expect teachers to parent their children, moral and principles are taught at home.

    3. Fox news is just a reflection of its viewers. Fox viewers eat up its propaganda because it validates their biases and prejudices. Fox keeps churning out its viewer pleasing propaganda in order to keep its viewers tuning in.

    1. @Ralf Häggström I only want to put my words on facts. My personal … won’t be needed or matter. Sorry, Mr. Ralf. I gotta go.

    2. @Lotta Sunshine All the phone calls are recorded. Even videos in Oval office. Transcript is something that is written after listening to that audio file.

  5. Pumpkinhead showing mental breakdown signs. Depressed, soft-spoken, weak, beaten, etc. and the “Spying on me” “Hang Schiff” etc. He’s GOING…pretty soon “GONE” He should look up meaning of words before talking treason.

  6. USA is suffering from a pandemic of Alex Jones Disease. It has already taken out the White House.

  7. “If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.” – Dr Joseph Goebbels NAZI Minister of Propaganda

  8. “Admit nothing. Deny everything. Make counter-accusations” the playbook used thus far by Trump and his supporters. But counter accusations do not defend what we can clearly see in the complaint and the transcript, where this President abused his Office in selling out American National Security for a Trump political advantage.
