    1. @Boris Karloff with power already stored. Your talking to some who is wiring a machine right now. It can be done. And solar panels don’t power anything they charge batteries that power everything. You telling me tesla can make rockets that land themselves but we can’t make solar panels that work in the cold? You listen to 2 much proganda news.

    2. @Danny O I don’t doubt your capabilities, I’m a builder, machinist and welder, simply asking a question. No propaganda news for me thanks.

    3. @Boris Karloff for sure it can be done easily but this is a chance to push agendas. Turn it into a left or right blue or red useless debate that isn’t even relevant. You know what this people say bout disasters in sure. You-know-what don’t let 1 go 2 waste. Why not bash each other the whole time while avoiding the real problems. Regular political shenanigans. Guaranteed any 1 who is any 1 in this state seen this coming “caught wind” and positioned themselves and cronies accordingly. Make big $ while some freeze and avoid all blame. Perfect. Then pin it on green energy or democrats or trump. This whole politics BS is out of control.

    4. @Danny O Agreed. That’s why the skysrapers down town at lit up like Christmas while they tell you to turn down your electricity consumption in the suburbs. Power here has been off for 40 hrs but we have food, shelter and firewood and good spirits. The fam and I are ok for a few more days. Take care

  1. Texas republicans: we want to secede from the union! Yankee gov’t suppression!
Also Texas republicans: where is the federal gov’t!

    1. Today Biden declared that an emergency exists in Texas so they can get federal funding. They are going to need it!

    2. @Belly Dancer Em

It was the government’s lack of preparedness that caused this issue. This is what happens when you rely on the government…

    3. @WickedZZzY you mean security was deliberately sabotaged by trump or those sympathetic to trump, so those rioters can overthrow he duly elected government

    4. @Belly Dancer Em

Does that have anything to do with my comment? My point is be an individual and rely on yourself – then these problems won’t occur. Asking the government for help will ensure these problems happen to you all the time.

  2. Before you go hating on all Texas residents (I am one) remember, Texas has more Democrats than 12 blue states have total population. An incredibly large group of voters who have very little state/national representation. There are babies, special needs, elderly, medical bound, etc residents that are suffering along with able bodied people.

  3. THE WEALTHIEST COUNTRY IN THE HISTORY OF THE WORLD. YET IN “ENERGY COUNTRY” “GAS COUNTRY” THESE PEOPLE DON’T HAVE HEAT. AMERICA IS A JOKE

    1. Yes we were out of power for 2 days. I nearly died after slipping on ice. No phone calls or cell phone service either.

  4. Take a guess which communities are hit the hardest with the longest time without power. Now guess which communities are spared almost freezing to death. Money talks.

  5. I’m afraid there’s going to be life loss. It’s due power companies too cheap to winterize their systems gambling on not needed.

  6. I’m guessing a lot of folks newly transplanted from California are asking themselves if they made a mistake.
