During the Detroit riots in ’67 I was 15. There is NO comparison between then and now. Racial abuse is protested all over the world. It happens all over the world.
Many of those protesting racism are white. Many of us are as offended by the disregard for black lives as anyone else.

An Ebola outbreak has just occurred in Congo. If trump wants a redo, here is his chance. If nothing is done, Ebola might get to continental USA again. And this time there is no Pandemic response team to fight it. Also 110k Americans have died of Covid19. More than Korean and Vietnam war combined.
I’m sure George Floyd never thought, that thousands upon thousands of people would take to the streets to demonstrate for him and against what happened. It is terrible that he had to be killed for this to happen, but at lest something good has come of his senseless death. I hope, this gives his family and friends a tiny bit of piece and satisfaction.

At any rate, I believe the tide may well have turned. Many things are different now from similar past events. I lived through the sixties. I was involved in music during that era and later. I was in L.A. during the first of these events, the Watts riots. I remember all of it, and this is truly different. There is reason for hope, I believe. Namaste.
