  1. They are hypocrites.
They are only “originalists” when it benefits them.
They are full of BS. No principles, no morals, no conscience.
It’s just like when they will not confirm a Judge in an election year, but that “principle” goes out of the window as soon as they don’t like it.

    • Sure there are principles – pay for your own costs. No more welfare. Lower taxes. Strong border.

    • @Sudhir Kakar You must be one of those 1%, because your comment implies that. So, while the people of this country are making you richer, you’re saying you don’t think they deserve to have health care?

    • @SMS The people aren’t making others richer. Your brain makes you rich in this day and age.

Long gone are the days of being an unskilled factory worker.

    • @SMS Everyone deserves to have what they can afford, based on their work ethic and skill. It’s simple. You don’t deserve more.

  2. I suspect people are going to die by the gun by the time this election is resolved. Its sad to say that. Good luck to your country.

  3. When we lose our healthcare no person in Congress or the Senate should have it? They should lose their government health insurances the day we lose ours? Includes those scotus judges and their health insurance.

  4. Making someone pay for a service at a rate higher than the private sector charges isn’t a right. It’s a rip off.

    • yeshttps://youtu.be/0AcMp9JJ8q0

    • Charges are equalised out over the population to ensure that those who would have to pay so much they couldnt afford it have lower premiums and some with very low premiums have to pay more to pay for it. The idea at first was to put more government money in to stop this happening but the opposition to Obama made sure that any extra money was out of the question, they hoped to bring the whole ACA down. But isnt it a very good thing that 20 million Americans that couldnt get healthcare can now get it, especially during a pandemic? its far from ideal but its a step in the right direction isnt it? The government could easily fund the ACA like Obama wanted to end this problem right now…but they didnt for some reason.

    • @neil rusling A flat tax and free health care for all solves the problem. But then, the wealthy would have to pay a fair share of taxes, and they don’t want that.

    • Nonsense, you could always buy insurance outside of the ACA exchanges, the law did require that policies actually cover care and not just superficial check ups. The law also did away with pre existing conditions and care caps, maybe you are still young and think that you don’t have any issues that need this sort of coverage at the moment, but you will I guarantee you.

    • @omfug haha…most people are selfish in nature and think about themselves only…what’s in it for me right now, nothing, so I’m against it…you may never need healthcare, grow old and never go to the doctors 1 time and live a happy healthy life and just drop dead at a good ole age of 90…but most people will not be like that…hahaha…it’s that selfish individualism mentality in the US in which anything that is meant to be good for the whole is consider socialism…while the rest of the rich countries in the world thinks America has a barbaric healthcare system!

  5. I hope Leslie Stahl kept that book. It will be worth millions some day.

  6. Finally, a truth teller…

    • @Bon Paoi What is your link tellim us?

    • @Steve Sloan The only post is the Morning Joe post. The rest are comments. Comments are opinions, just like the one I posted suggesting the Senator was telling the truth when he observed the goal of many originalists is to defang (my term) the Federal Government.

    • where are they i didnt see any

    • @A. Duncan i thought you were serious till you said that , DAMM you fooled me

    • Senator King’s assertions DO NOT “pass scrutiny.” We are on to their game. That is why President Trump will win re-election in ONE WEEK….

Constitutional “originalists” don’t want the principles of the Founding Fathers “frozen in time.” Their founding principles are enduring and timeless, which doesn’t make sense to anyone who thinks the NEW DEAL was “progressive.” It’s a bureaucratic nightmare and a Ponzi scheme like the Democrat Socialist’s GREEN NEW DEAL.

Here’s the point, Senator King. WE AREN’T BUYING WHAT YOU’RE SELLING BECAUSE WE KNOW YOUR INTENTIONS.

“When someone shows you who they are, believe them the first time.” — Maya Angelou

When Democrats launch into Kabuki Theatre during Senate confirmation hearings trying to secure future (pre)judicial commitments from every Supreme Court nominee, they intend to secure their BIG government Socialist agenda…. WE SEE THEIR MALICIOUS INTENT.

We understand Democrats impose these BIG government mandates — Affordable Care Act — as Trojan Horses so that they can GRAB POWER and SEIZE CONTROL of the flow of QUADRILLIONS in America’s tax revenues.

Caveat emptor. Buyer beware. While George Bush was spending $85 BILLION PER MONTH in Iraq, Americans in Flynt, Michigan were drinking poisoned tap water. IF THAT MAKES SENSE TO YOU — YOU MIGHT BE A DEMOCRAT.

If “Obamacare” makes sense to you, you’re definitely a Democrat. You are a useful tool of the corrupt Washington establishment that siphons money from American taxpayers and PRETENDS TO CARE about things like “health care” and “clean water” and “freedom” and “democracy.” #Grifters #ConMen

Were these grifters in Washington counting on your ignorance when the Individual Mandate was imposed and it siphoned BILLIONS from uninsured Americans? Absolutely.

Did they think we forgot about those “Shovel Ready Jobs” Obama promised AFTER he siphoned $875 BILLION DOLLARS from hardworking Americans?

Did they think we didn’t notice when Obama’s friends at Solyndra declared bankruptcy after they made a killing from BILLIONS received under his fake ‘economic stimulus’ plan?

Where are the INFRASTRUCTURE projects we paid for in 2009? How many millions of Americans were standing by waiting for Obama to deliver on his promise of SHOVEL READY jobs?

You think we didn’t notice when Obama “DIDN’T BUILD THAT”?

We have our shovels ready to bury the DNC and all the corrupt politicians (Republican RINO’s) who have been STEALING OUR TAX REVENUES for DECADES in endless wars, foreign aid, and disguised as “humanitarian assistance” before it is money laundered back into their own accounts.

      Burisma, anyone?

      Clinton Global Initiative?

      Uranium One?

      The Iran Deal?

      Elections have consequences, Senator King.

We The People are WOKE, now.

      Welcome to the Trump Epoch.

  7. In play. In *play*. I’m getting shots to hold my back together and cramming in nerve-severing pain treatments because I don’t know if I’ll have a way to pay for spinal surgery if my ACA insurance is taken away and she’s talking about it like it’s the black spade in Hearts or a freaking football.

    • @T. R. Campbell So what?? Your brothers case and decisions have nothing to do with this persons back and health problems. Do you even know why a partisan judge ruled it unconstitutional or do you just not care about the wellbeing of other people? The fact that you tried to throw in an excuse like “well this is how my brother dealt with it so you should be fine” is vile

    • T. R. Campbell | October 26, 2020 at 12:26 PM | Reply

@Aggie Voit The lower court ruled that the ACA was unconstitutional because of the requirement that people must buy the product or pay a tax/fine. This would make it unconstitutional. We should have made the ACA The best health insurance plan in the world so we did not have to force Americans to purchase this insurance. People had other options such as insurance from their employer or their union which would have been eliminated by the ACA.
I wasn’t comparing my brother with the other individual, I was pointing but people do have options. People do have options if they purchase private insurance because they can select a plan that is best for them. Unlike the ACA which is a one-size-fits-all plan that was sold to the American people on a lie and has never worked as intended.

    • @T. R. Campbell It has worked as intended, 20 million people who cannot afford private healthcare see it as their only lifeline. So the court decision should be about the tax/fine if you opt out and want to stay with your own plan. The ACA would have been better if republicans didn’t try so hard to prevent it from ever happening in the first place. Now even Biden has stated that he is for people having the choice.
The fact is, Americans pay almost as much as Canadians do in total taxes, the difference is right wing politicans here don’t feel like doing the hard work of managing those tax dollars in a way that benefits the people that pay them. They just convince you that its an “entitlement” so they can steal it and give it away in the form of military contracts and corporate tax cuts. Resulting in more poor consumers, so there is less money circulating, and then they point to the stock market as an indicator that the country is wealthy. What a joke

    • T. R. Campbell | October 26, 2020 at 12:48 PM | Reply

@Aggie Voit We cannot continuously try to blame the Republicans. This was all our program. The ACA Was passed was only Democrat votes, no Republican voted for it and we own it. We recall that Republican leadership attempted to work with President Obama to make the ACA better. I have pointed out they had a meeting at the White House with President Obama and making suggestions. President Obama turn towards their side of the table rubbing his nose with his index finger basically giving the Republicans the finger.
There is been much criticism about Republicans and the exchanges however, being able to opt out of the insurance exchanges was demanded by Democrat governors in red states. They saw the insurance exchanges as a money pit and wanted to be able to opt out. That has proven to be true and correct.
A lot of the rhetoric that we hear from our side is a scare tactic. We have to remember that chief justice Roberts who was considered a conservative saved the ACA by his determination that Congress could call the fine a tax. As I stated the ACA is already declared unconstitutional and it will then be time for Republicans and Democrats to get together to pass a working health insurance bill if people call for it. There is a lot of attention being given to people who could, might, may lose their health insurance if the supreme court upholds the ruling of the lower Texas court. We also must consider what damage could be caused to our country by allowing and unconstitutional law to continue to exist.

    • @T. R. Campbell Some very good points. The opt out should not be a money grab opportunity. I mean, even Trump promised to “repeal AND replace” not “keep asking me about it in two weeks while we set a court date to destroy it” so yes, a better plan needs to be worked out, and then have that better plan replace the current one. Yes, the fine/tax should be removed, but it should not be the reason that even one person is negatively affected by a “repeal & think about the replace plan later when we can all agree on it, no timeline set tho”
I mean, in common sense land, it shouldn’t be that hard to remove a fine clause while maintaining the features of it that genioually help people stay healthy or alive.

  8. If the Deme take the Senate and Presidency,
they can exercise Article III to shift current scotus judges to other federal courts.
    Textualism, you know.

    • You gotta love the literalists and textualists trying to decode the Constitution:
      – how many horses should be allowed on the freeways?
      – or would muskets be for self-defence?
      – who has right of way… a schooner or an oil tanker?
The arguments that judges cannot re-interpret the intentions of the Constitution are totally bogus.

  10. Health Care Lobbying in D.C. is the largest of any lobby group. Do you think they just target Republicans? Anyone that works directly in the government has a golden health care plan.
The rest of us pay out the behind for crap coverage. Politicians have successfully made this a partisan issue.

  14. That thick volume was filled with blank pages.

    • Lesley Stahl said as much. She said it didn’t contain a healthcare plan.

    • Overall Great Idea | October 26, 2020 at 1:34 PM | Reply

@Margo the report I read said she said it didn’t contain a COMPREHENSIVE healthcare plan, a qualifier which allows anyone to subjectively dismiss it.

    • @Margo : She says it contained executive orders Trump has signed like the ones covering pre existing conditions (already covered by the ACA), VA choice (already covered, signed into law by Obama in 2014) and other meaningless papers but no healthcare plan. McIniny should have been embarrassed to give it to Leslie Stahl but she has no shame.

    • @Rudy Penza None of them do.

    • @Overall Great Idea If you’re willing to gamble your preexisting conditions protections on that one word, have at it.

  15. Until health care stops being about money instead of health there’s no reasonable solution.

    • andrea Perry So…. you want Drs. to work for FREE??? Would you???😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂

    • Yes there is it’s called capitalism! Healthcare has been socialized for a long time. We now have local doctors in many cities you can see for $50 to $75. Dr. Umber with Atlas has several clinics in Missouri

    • @Nancy Blair That is a very very silly comment!

    • @hey hey That does not help the 10’s of millions of citizens without money or insurance for heath care. Not every person can live in Atlanta.
Socialized one payer medicine is up to 1/2 the cost of free extortion Medicine.
And the doctors are paid well.

    • @An Sar WOW, you honestly cannot be that dumb! First off Atlanta is in Geargia second Socialized one payor is half because they pay the hospitals half which has bankrupted many hospitals and would bankrupt them all! Without incentives for a doctor to earn you would lose your doctors and eventually as the costs skyrocket like every other government program!

  16. They are in place to take away our healthcare even when they lose the election. That’s their parting gift to Americans in the middle of this pandemic. Vote all Blue All the Way !!!

NO one in American 🇺🇸 Government 🏛⚖️ should have any “Lifetime Appointment” to anything!!! That needs to change ASAP! Some kind of Term Lmits needed for the U.S. Supreme Court‼️

    • T. R. Campbell | October 26, 2020 at 5:05 PM | Reply

Agreed, we should have term limits. On our side Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer are poster children for the need for term limits. On their side McConnell is a poster child for term limits. These people have been in government for over 30 years.
The original idea of the founders was for the “citizen lawmaker” willing go to Washington for a few years and then return back home. Being a lawmaker was never intended to be a lifetime occupation.
