The January 6 Insurrection Was A Last Gasp For White Supremacy. | MSNBC

Anand Giridharadas, publisher of The.Ink, says that what the country experienced last week is the chaos at the end of white supremacy. “This is not a launch party, this is a funeral for something. It is funeral for white supremacy. It is a funeral for a kind of outdated, outmoded male power. It is a mourning for a time in which certain Americans could claim to be the default of America and not have to share.”» Subscribe to MSNBC:

  1. They want to form their own government where Trump can rule as their holy prophet, and where their traditions will be protected and acceptable. They see change as a threat to their hateful ideology. They are desperate to hold onto their past because that’s the only thing they have left at this point. They’re weak souls blinded by hate and rage. 🙏🇺🇸

    1. Buy the Epstein island. Move there with trump and form your delusional world. Maybe the rest of us can actually feel free again.

  2. Taking the country back used to mean winning the House and Senate.

But now to the Trumpite it means Physical Civil War.

    1. Unamerican trumper traitors beware U.S. Code § 2384 – Seditious conspiracy
If two or more persons in any State or Territory, or in any place subject to the jurisdiction of the United States, conspire to overthrow, put down, or to destroy by force the Government of the United States, or to levy war against them, or to oppose by force the authority thereof, or by force to prevent, hinder, or delay the execution of any law of the United States, or by force to seize, take, or possess any property of the United States contrary to the authority thereof, they shall each be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than twenty years, or both.

    2. @Thomas Kristensen believe it or not….. I am actually proud of them because they are on our fellow American who chose to fight for their country live or die

Nothing wrong but that they failed. They are our Brothers

    3. @Thomas Kristensen if you disagree it’s okay but there is one thing that we know is that they fought for what they believed and this we must commend

  3. Yes.. but, there will be more Lone Wolf’s committing atrocities because they would rather die by the hands of law enforcement than to become irrelevant.

    1. @Melissa S many people vote for a corrupt leader because they think is the leser of two evils. Everyone where I live voted for Trump because they think the other one is a communist.

    2. Someone who views themselves irrelevant based on current societal members needs to address their ego…and work on self love.

    3. @Norma Rojo They believe that because they chose to. Willful ignorance is no excuse. They can go to jail with the rest.

    4. Definitely but not for very long. They are just blunders in something much greater than them that they cannot control. The destiny of humanity.

  4. I hope your right. A unified humanity that doesn’t see race as a defining characteristic is a humanity I want to be a part of. Deed not race should determine a persons worth to society.

    1. Black History: Of the 12.5 million slaves taken from West Africa, 80% were sold to whites by Africans!! Black lives didn’t seem to matter much to them!

  5. “The Federal Bureau of Investigation believes conspiracy theories like QAnon and Pizzagate pose a domestic-terrorism threat…”

    1. They really are. Some maniac went armed to the Pizza Parlor accused in Pizzagate and took hostages, though luckily seems no one was hurt before he was arrested.

    2. Stupid people can be very dangerous people. They tend to get agitated easily and quick to violence. The people who actually believe that crap are capable of doing anything their sacred leader in office commands them to do. Because people like that have huge fantasy of toppling a corrupt government and being american hero GI Joe. Only after their heroic actions when they’re arrested do they finally realize their actions arent called heroism, but terrorism and they wont be getting a parade in their honor.

    2. @BonerMaroner oh really? So you just grouped all white people of a certain religion into a category based on their skin color. That makes you a racist.

  6. It is backlash, and that backlash has been building since these people
could not accept the fact that a black man became President of the USA.

    1. Yes in Honolulu..a lovely place. Cleanest city in USA. So Barack is really a Hawaiian homeboy & I don’t mean that in a negative way. He’s a 70s kid from Honolulu..hence ..Y he’s mr. Kool .. very natural.

    2. @Cecil Brisley When will America be ready, according to your crystal ball? Which America are you so concerned about to say “running Obama was the wrong move”? Civil Rights would not have happened if people waited for white America to be ready. People are agents of Ready now. It is a brave new world. You sound like the “old white guy” you advocate democrats to comfort. Byzantine.

    1. Sorry to burst anyone’s bubble, but the United States does not, I’ll repeat that in capitals, just for those at the back, does NOT represent the world.

From the death penalty, to having no healthcare system (one that only preserves the lives of those who can pay doesn’t count), to a long history of military aggression towards other countries (purely for profit), America leads only those who sincerely believe that might makes right.

As for ‘diverse’, I lived in Northern California for 7 years and I never saw so few black people in my life. You guys have obviously never been to London, or Paris.

    2. @Colino Deani Nope, not true. There are many, many, many other countries with more diverse populations per capita than the USA. Much of the world already IS, not “COULD BE”.

    1. @Rush Limbaugh Where are you getting these figures you are spouting. I can’t find them any where. Has there been violence, you bet from both sides. 700 officer injured – I don’t think so! 47 dead, where? Maybe you should use reputable NEWS sources!

    2. All racism is just ignorance. It stems from two things… It’s learned and passed down generations and also it’s grown out of xenophobia and white people in particular who only see and hang out with white people.

    3. @Thomas Rainbow so you single out white people while attempting to say something against racism? Seems kinda racist. I also disagree with the premise that racism only arises because it is taught. If someone sees a high enough percentage of a certain race act in a specific negative manner, their logical conclusion will be to initially dislike others of that race.

    1. I’m 48, I am much more inclusive than my elders but I had to unlearn a lot of crap first my kids are inclusive because that’s all they saw at home. When it came up at other places I used it to teach them about hate and racism. Nov 18, 2019. My daughter gave us a grandson I really believe his generation will be even more inclusive. It should not take this long but as thoes old facts die and people get better educated the hate will die out. I hope and pray at least

    1. @Jack Spratt “How the bird sings, when she is flying / And how the bee stings, when he knows he is dying” – John Phillips
You are part of the past, Jack. You will not be remembered.

    2. The Republican’s in Congress, as well as he Democrats, must put the Constitution first, their oath of office, before their party.

  7. The MLK quote he’s talking about: “The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice.”

    1. Maybe. But in that long arc are regressions into shocking barbarism. Do we really want to live through one of those little “bumps” in the road? Not really. 30 years might be the blink of an eye in history. In our lives, well that is an awful long time for things to be terrible.

    2. he also told his followers they have the biggest problems with their own commiting crimes against themselves and need to fix that problem as well. but 60 years later proves they have not improved or done anything to do so.

  8. Maybe we’ll get an infrastructure week after trump is convicted in the Senate in about three months.

    1. It needed to bubble up to the surface with Trump so we could deal with the virus of white supremacy. It’s a disease that will be wiped clean.

    2. @Near N Our ancestors fought for us Whites. They didn’t put roots down for Dontarious or Paco or Habib or Saul or some Asian guy named “Bill”. Gtfoh you clown!

    1. It is indeed a lovely aspiration. The cultural shift required to even begin moving towards it however, is a monumental one, demanding change at every level of society.

    1. @Nupraptor And yet multiculturalism works quite well in some parts of the world. It’s a very different concept to assimilation….. which is typically what is ‘pushed artificially’ and therefore, rarely works.

    2. @Amadeo Komnenus My answer would be: 1. Repeal Hart/Celler so that future immigration is the way it is was before. Where only white Europeans were allowed to immigrate That doesn’t mean the people who came here under Hart/Celler are no longer citizens. 2. Remove all illegal immigrants end birthright citizenship. 3. Go back to a classical liberal society Freedom of association laws etc. Does that sound reasonable or a crazy white nationalist platform?

    3. @Johnny Fash Why would immigration be specifically aimed at Only White Europeans? Would white European illegal immigrants be deported as well? What is the end goal of your personal plan?

    4. Yes, and it’s something that isn’t unique to the USA. There are many, many multicultural countries who are managing fairly well, thank you. Hello from Canada!

    5. @Anser Bauer Multiculturalism is a cherished strength in most countries. At the end of the day, people are people. Given common values and humane goals, multiculturalism is a strength. I tend to get suspicious of those that speak against it, because an agenda of division or racism is usually at the naysayers heart.

    1. I’ve never heard of a White Navy. I’ve heard of navy whites, but not a White Navy. Is that a navy for caucasians? Is there a Black Navy for black people?

    2. @Jon Stone What a ridiculous response. White is a race, just like Black and the Navy is the Navy…childish.

    3. @Timothy O’Brien Apparently you missed the point of my comment. It was intended as a gentle chiding of Dee’s improper spelling. He should have written “white Navy combat veteran” with a lower-case “w” instead of writing “White Navy combat veteran” with an upper-case “W.” Obviously the subtlety of my comment went over your head. Oh well. It’s not that big a deal. Can I assume you voted for Trump? His followers are known to be…
      not very intelligent.
