As someone who studied history at college, I do often wonder how major historical events could have been different if a 1 term President had gotten reelected and served during those events.
Usually presidents regardless of party, don’t do as well with their second term as they do in their first one. They make a lot more mistakes and they are a little more carefree about looking bad because now they have already secured two terms. Personally I wonder more about the ones that didn’t win. How would have they have handled a certain crisis or a changing of cultures? That’s a better question than a first term that you already got a taste of what they govern like.

Actually, it was states politics and local governors and mayors who mismanaged it. Go do some research and see that all governors stated public ally the federal government provided all assistance they needed: Equipment, ventilators, money, etc. it was mismanaged locally.

It had nothing to do with the Democrats opposing lockdowns, calling him racist for wanting to close the borders early, or Fauci saying that nobody needs to wear masks, then keeping the lockdowns so strict, praising rioting, releasing criminals, and defunding the police to the point where there is now a mass exodus out of California and New York.
