    1. Sampson Trent125 yea that’s what’s happening. And social justice is a bad thing. Social justice. Idiot

    1. Sure, if you like communism and the government sticking their noses into every aspect of your life. I’d suggest picking up a ”history book” to see the failures and murder of marxism my friend. Venezuela happens to be the latest example, and I’m sure if you’d ask them, they really didn’t enjoy eating their pets and zoo animals.

Funny thing, this media you trust, CNN, the fake news network just settled a 275 MILLION dollar lawsuit because of their outright LIES- https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.usatoday.com/amp/2837478001

    1. @Mike Nunyabizness I think you misread what dude wrote above you. The one you called a monster. He said they are proving the lock downs to be right.

    2. @Mike Nunyabizness Projection is also part of it. Of which you clearly suffer significant issues. So it was the girl that cheated on you? That has to be it. You probably didn’t really notice the “Mommie” issues until it was too late. Did she tell you “it was only once?” She did, didn’t she? But then you found out how long it had been going on. I bet that hurt. You DO realize it was your fault, right? And you still haven’t learned your lesson. You just keep on hating while telling yourself “they just don’t understand me.” Well, they do. It’s because of who you are as a person. I’d like to tell you “it will be alright,” but it won’t. You’re done. I will say “good luck” again.

    3. @Mike Nunyabizness And hey, it looks like you misread the posts again. You’re really not very good at this are you? Good luck, pumpkin.

    4. @Kimberly Morgan He knows that. But he’s too much of a child to admit it, instead opting to attack the people who pointed it out. He’s coming to grips with some pretty bad mental issues, so the best we can do it just hope he gets it.

    1. @Sudden Destruction I wouldn’t mind clicking on your link, but first give us a teaser of what it’s about.

    2. once again live yesterday you got exposed by the president four being liers live on air, CNN won’t show it does not fit there sheeps agender

    3. me and a bunch of people were ringing the coronavirus bell around january, and this is what yall seemed to us

    1. Not random brah, you are watching coronavirus related material and youtube is tracking your dumbass habits.

    1. @eric kariuki Sweden can barely beat USA at a national average and USA is closing fast for the tie it is pushing 90 probably today. So Sweden is getting just 1 more death per 100,000 people. They have been free and open and we have been locked down for over a month, 50 countries……um states so the experiment has failed. Sweden is right. It makes no difference. Just fear and panic and paranoia for no reason.

    2. @kyle grant This Virus is Fake Scare by Media to keep us contained and take our freedoms away. Get This Canada and Switzerland have the same amount of Cases and Canada has done twice the tests. 400,000 to 200,000 and they found 25,000 cases so far in each country so 50,000 total. 700 have died, 7,100 recovered in Canada and 1,100 and 13,000 recovered in Switzerland. Canada has 38,000,000 people so 20 per million are dead. Switzerland has 9,000,000 people and 130 per million are dead. Canada is 242 times the size of it and 4 times the population. So 60 times less dense. No half of Canada is frozen arctic and no people still 30 times less dense in people than Switzerland. Fake Virus, Fake Panic, Fake News!

    1. @Vanadyan we have no conclusion about how deadly the virus is at this moment because we under-tested. Death is certain, but we simply don’t have any idea how many have been infected. All countries under reported and continue to under report. Widespread testing is required to really establish how deadly the virus is, but it will blow up the number of cases and I’m sure it’s exactly what Donald T (for totalitarian) doesn’t want

    2. @Sam Van Fair enough. The numbers may change. We can only base our actions on the numbers we have right now however, and I am in favor of overreacting in an effort to save as many lives as possible.

    3. @Vanadyan I agree with you. We should overreact at this moment no matter what. Until we know for sure and until we have enough vaccines, we should overreact. I meant to say we should not base our actions on the mortality rate, no matter how high / low they are at the moment. Let’s totally ignore it, expand testing, find cure/vaccine, and unfortunately continue to buy all the PPEs and ventilators we can find.

    4. @Vanadyan You’re really not keeping up are you? That’s from listening to VERY bad news outlets. 1) According to an article recently published in the New England Journal of Medicine by Dr. Anthony S. Fauci, Dr. H. Clifford Lane, and Dr. Robert R. Redfield, the case fatality rate may be less than one percent, and the clinical consequences of Covid-19 may be more similar to that of a severe seasonal influenza. 2) The original epidemioligist (Neil Ferguson) “Doomsday” model that was used, was grossly inflated. He admitted his study was inflated. Face it – it’s all been poppycock Doomsday Fear Porn. Turn off the TV, research and think for yourself – and wait for the Antibody studies to get the real accurate data.

    1. Like Mr. “You can keep your healthcare plan if you like your healthcare plan.” Obama could have done a better job… ha, ha, ha!

    2. It actually is genius. It’s almost like Trump manipulates them. Knowing that if he says Sweden is doing very badly the media will then report the truth about Sweden and how the aggressive left wing shut downs don’t work

  1. Every experiment needs a control group. As we undergo a massive experiment to elongate the spread, Sweden stands as the control group that will ultimately provide a basis for comparison.

    1. @Yona B But there are sides. There is reality vs everything else.
And you still haven’t clarified why you pretend to be in different places.
Or why you think you’re an expert but dismiss experts.

    2. Riqrob it’s hard to know anything about something so new. Have to have some understanding for what we are dealing with. We live in a world were everything is so immediate so people expect a result fast. Technology has warped our perception into this I need and want it now mentality. A brand new virus emerges and can have to propensity to live in people for 2 weeks without showing any symptoms (allowing spread easily undetectable). This virus is very weird and can and has killed people. The quarantine was a good idea to slow the spread so we didn’t overwhelm the hospitals and end up with more death. It’s a double edge sword though because jobs and the economy will collapse which in the long term also kill people from poverty and homelessness to violence. This would be a very hard call to make and as we see it has been hard.

    3. Username yes agreed. Balance and cohesion with all the different areas you mentioned play a part in keeping the balance.

  2. I live in Stockholm, the company I work for has been having us work from home for over a month now, I go out once every few days only to buy essential supplies. Frankly I am thankful that there is no panic and no atmosphere of fear. BUT I do disagree with the fact that there aren’t any restrictions. I’m not Swedish myself, but I’ve been living here for almost a year – the Swedes are nice people and they generally trust their government’s recommendations, which right now – is just that – a recommendation. But no matter what the news is saying – all anyone needs to do is look at the daily numbers:

    March 6 – 137 cases
    March 16 – 1,121 cases — (after 10 days: + 1,000ish cases)
    March 27 – 3,069 cases — (after 11 days: + 2,000ish cases)
    April 7 – 7,693 cases — (after 10 days: + 4,700ish cases)
    April 12 – 10,948 cases — (after 6 days: + 3,300ish cases)

I think people want to point to Sweden as a proving point for the lifting of restrictions, and so that people can resume the comfort of ‘normal life’. But there’s no magic, no secret here – cases (and deaths) are rising just like everywhere else. It’s not rocket science.

    1. That you say in the last paragraph is probably the reason why we’ve gotten so much attention of late. Many foreign-produced news only bring up part of the actual strategy to portray something on the lines of “oh hey look they do it without lockdown. But wait maybe doom awaits”. That’s what irks me, because we’re doing our best in delaying spread, flattening the curve. So far we seem to be doing okay.. Not stellar, nor a catastrophy, but more like middle-of-the-pack-ish.

If you want a better picture I guess it’s probably better to ask your own experts on disease control whether any part of sweden’s strategy could be adopted or reasons it would not work for yours; rathen than just reacting to medias portrayal of it.

We do rocket science too, but that is not very applicable for disease control, right? 🙂

    2. @Ashley Seems like Sweden is kinda just average. USA is coming up to it as a whole best experiment to test 50 countries, ahem states and it is pushing 75 right no 80. Who Am I kidding or who we kidding it will be 90 in a minute. Sweden only 100 so 10 more people dying per million for doing all that lock-down is not much of a success. This lock-down seems to be a waste of resources, space and money. Oh and we gonna starve to death causing a global catastrophe of massive economic pandemic all for fake news. Sweden knew. Respect.

    3. @Dan Smith 20 more people dying doesn’t matter to me either as long those 20 are the “others” and not some one I know or love.

  3. “So younger people with antibodies surround and protect the elderly and more vulnerable.” That is NOT what “herd immunity” is or does. It LITERALLY means letting the population contract a disease, regardless of initial consequences, so that it can’t spread further assuming the base population is then immune. It is applied Darwinism, and it presumes you are willing for a percentage of “elderly and more vulnerable” to DIE, not be “surrounded and protected.” Side note: It is not yet know if contracting COVID-19 immunizes you against further infection. What Sweden is ACTUALLY doing is practicing “presumed compliance” and the results are, as expected, mixed.

    1. @Troll Destroyer Our schools are closed, millions are working from home, police is enforcing gatherings above 50 ppl, etc etc etc etc.
No one is letting any disease run rampant through the population. There is no “herd immunity” *TACTIC* . That was made up by people outside of Sweden, trying to make sense of the differences.
The only tactic we have in Sweden is maintaining a rate of infection suitable for our hospitals. Same as any other nation on the planet right now. Herd immunity may be a *consequence* years later down the line, but certainly not an expressed tactic by the people in charge.

The lack of draconican lockdown-laws does not mean that the Swedes don’t follow our government’s recommendations. We do that willingly. We are not sheep that needs the hound to tell us what to do. We are citizens. And we trust our government because it is trustworthy.

    2. @Andreas Hansen Yes sir. That was what my OP was saying: that what you are doing is not “herd immunity,” but rather trusting that your citizens are all following best practices and each can depend on the other to “do what’s right” for everyone involved. That’s NOT what “herd immunity” is.

    3. the only other option is to wait for a vaccine, which may or may not be effective. With respect, can we hold out for 1 year or more? I don’t think you or I really can answer that. However, I’ve saw a company that has a promising antibody treatment that has worked in the lab. Next step is seeing if it works i humans and is safe. Company is called Distributed Bio. I’m sure there are other companies working on the same idea.

    4. @Todd Lavigne No we can’t wait for a vaccine that may not even work. We have vaccines for seasonal influenza. Despite that, death rates are even higher for the flu than for the newest Covid-19 projections.

    5. @Renee H Well, _deaths_ for the flu are currently higher. We don’t know the _death_ _rate_ yet for COVID-19. Approximately 71% of Americans over 18 have been vaccinated for the flu within the last 4 years at a reported efficacy of 43%. There is, of course, no treatment at all for this. We’re nearing 1/2 the yearly flu deaths after only 3 weeks. This is far from over. And we’ve got waves of it yet to come. The best we can do is hold out as long as we can and flatten the curve in the hopes that when our time comes, if required, there will be health care available.

    1. more like: Madness? This is Sweden, we are complete scumbags benefitting from Europe’s efforts and want our old people dead already.

  4. Remember that Sweden has one of the most accurate reporting of death figures in the world, and that the test methods is different so that number of actual cases cannot be compared with other countries.
Also we will never know whether the strategy worked until about a year from now when hopefully a vaccine is in place.
Until then we will have to maintain a sustainable strategy that gives hospitals the best possible chance to save lives.
The momentary number this early means little. Wait until every country on lockdown needs to open up and adopt similar measures as in Sweden for a short while before they possibly close down again after a second surge.
