  1. We’ve been under a state of National Emergency for the last 3 /12 years. If you want to keep America safe, keep Trump on a golf course and away from a microphone. The first part should be easy.

    1. I reported The Donald years ago. So much for “See something….say something” when we need it most.

    2. Thomas Faggioni My thoughts Exactly !! But instead of a golf course … I would much prefer he was in prison !

    3. The same could be said for Joe Biden. I have never seen a politician stumble over his own words like that man does. He’s a more awkward speaker than president Bush was.

    1. I am not political whatsoever, I did not take it at all that way. I thought it showed actively working behind the scenes to get all of America on board. Late by weeks but done.

  2. I like the part where states and local governments are figuring it out on their own since the head of the federal government is still stuck on if he should stop Corona Beer imports from Mexico. 😄

    1. That’s funny and all, but not remotely what’s actually going on.

Trump is leading the head of the CDC and other health care organizations in what they see as the best counter measures for what can be done without causing a mass panic. Unlike msn….

  3. How is it the the United States “doesn’t have the ability” to build a thousand room hospital? What he should have said is the United States doesn’t have the will to build a thousand room hospital unless there is some assurance it will always produce large profit margins.

    1. @myko freder Interesting that you suggest isolating the most vulnerable instead of isolating those already infected. I infer that you think at some point soon, the infected public will far outnumber those most at risk from complications if infected. I first thought it sounded like you were willing to sacrifice general public health to save the weakest among us but after further consideration, there’s no telling how long it will take for proper testing to occur so assuming the vast majority is already infected might save the most lives in a “anti-Darwinistic” sort of way.

  4. “Ignorance more frequently begets confidence than does knowledge: it is those who know little, and not those who know much, who so positively assert that this or that problem will never be solved by science.”
    –Charles Darwin

“The highest form of ignorance is when you reject something you don’t know anything about.”
    –Wayne Dyer

“Nothing in all the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity.”
    –Martin Luther King, Jr.

These quotes perfectly describe the current “stable genius” in the Oval Office.

    1. @Liza Tanzawa Neither will the hospital parking lot when they run out of beds. I suggest a mall because it’s already set up for use and the conversion (in emergency circumstances) should be relatively simple.

    2. Schools are empty. Could easily transform them into a hospital/triage complex with its rooms, showers, cafeterias, and large parking lots that can be used for drive thru testing areas for instance. All in one coronovirus centers.

  5. China built 2 hospitals,2600 beds. In a week. We just gave the BANKSTERS 1.5 TRILLION dollars. Anyone check the body bag situation lately??

    1. @Duane Hall It was not a hospital. it was a hotel that was being used to house the less seriously ill patients.

    2. The good thing is that many the banksters are on the older end of the spectrum – that end of the spectrum who are the most vulnerable to the virus. You could always hope that the virus carries a few of them off. At the very least, the banksters would not live to enjoy their wealth.

    3. @SolSere Jeremy I agree! It is sickening and a very helpless feeling. We have tons of Americans in denial too.

    4. @Another Random Person Yes! Our granddaughter is an ARNP in a large hospital and pregnant. We are so scared for her.

  6. When I worked for the Army Corps of Engineers thirty years ago, they were capable of building a Styrofoam building (in a blizzard) in a couple of hours. These buildings last for decades, could hold a hundred hospital beds and connect with foam or tent hallways. That would be a creative solution.

    1. Stadiums and arenas in many major cities have plenty of covered space, parking lots, power and water. When it comes to it (and it will) we will need that space.
To staff it, we can bring in help from Latin America. They haven’t been hit as hard, and even if we ask for 100 doctors/nurses per country, we could rotate personnel, give the pros a fighting chance.
Bonus: brining in a bunch of foreign professionals may make Stephen Miller’s head explode.

  7. Rachel Maddow and fans,
Did you know that the World Health Organization (WHO) very quickly developed a test for the Coronavirus and offered it to All the countries and TRUMP REFUSED to use them?!?! That is why the other countries are so far ahead of us in producing them!!!

Please look this up on the W.H.O website and help go after Trump and his Administration for their willful negligence that may have cost many American lives. Write your Senators and House of Reps about it!!!

    1. @JV Why do you want to spread such gossipy nonsense? Do you actually think that DJT is so unintelligent that he would equate the virus with his chances of reelection? That’s not even intelligent. That’s just gossipy.

    2. There is no point in testing everybody! We already know the virus is here so the first thing to do is to prevent yourself from getting it. You could announce tomorrow that the local hospital will test everyone and you know what will happen? The first 50,000 people to show up will be all the hypochondriacs in town who DON’T EVEN FEEL SICK, who want to brag to their friends and neighbors that they were the first to get the test. I’ve been studying you hypochondriacs ever since I grew up reading Mad Magazine in the 1950’s.
Then the secondary problems begin. All the hypochondriacs will use up the test kits needed for sick people and for medical staff. And then there will be false positives. False positives will create new economic dislocations when healthy people are given the care that should be reserved for sick people. False positives will create new panic, fear, and even accidental death.
Everything you MSNBC viewers complain about confirms you don’t have the problem solving skills of rational people. If you don’t believe me, ask your father–he knows.

    3. @Jeff Gibson Yes, yes I do Jeff. D.Trump is a moron. He asked on live TV to keep Americans on the most recent ship due to rising numbers making him look bad.. Well Jeff, Trump has succeeded for 3 years in making himself look bad and now you do too. I dislike idiots so I will mute you..

  8. I called Colorado gov’s office and suggested, since neighborhoods have boundaries, each neighborhood set up a testing/ quarantine area.

  9. When China built 2 hospitals in 10 days, there were some criticisms and mockings that they were not “real” hospital, etc… now that the virus has come to the US, and the federal government is running around like a chicken without its head.

    1. @snoop alert Got parents? Got grandparents? Do you love them? Do you even care about them? Stop laughing. Start taking this seriously. To make it really personal – If you’re living in your mother’s basement and she dies of this virus, you’ll have to move. And get a job. And a life.

  10. Since the schools are closed they are an immediate source of rooms showers cafeterias… They are also located where they are needed

    1. …with large parking lots for drive thru testing. Recreation areas to get out as you recover. Makes a lot of sense.

  11. My daughter is in the UK and they have PODS outside the hospital to keep corona patients separated. We could use the schools here they are all closed.

    1. Washington State is doing an amazing job dealing with these issues. They are using their local scientists and testing at UOW labs. The state bought a motel for people that are infected to stay. I wish we can build a hospital for only 10days or even 2 weeks.

  12. Trump says: “We have the best economy in the world!” In this video is said, that US have not the ability to create new hospitals like China in such short time. What´s wrong in US, Mr. Trump??? Maybe you?

    1. Vexed Nation – and we eat snakes, alligators and rabbits and squirrels in many parts of this country…..your point is weak.

    2. Ask thrump what happened he the perident of the USA you tell me he wait two months before trying to do something but he smart than everyone he said so thrump what do we do now Mr President you said your smart

    3. @Dark Horse no your lieing again you pump up walstreet when gave them 50billon dollars to the bank now the chicken have come home to Root the bank kept the money they did nothing to help the people

    4. @Liza Tanzawa If things were as you suggest, then hospitals would go up over-night in the U.S. because we wouldn’t have over-time laws or work limits etc, etc.

The fact is we’ve got books worth of laws to protect American workers. Some of our building codes probably don’t exist in China, and their government can cut through all the political red-tape a heck of a lot faster since it’s basically a dictatorship.

Also, China is run by billionaires and government. Literally. Some of the wealthiest people on earth are Chinese citizens and they own vast fortune and control the lives of millions of workers who are also forced (by the government in some cases) to work for these companies.

    5. @Valerie Bailey Bailouts rarely help the people anyway.

President Trump is on the verge of authorizing 1 trillion dollars to help the American people who don’t have jobs during this national emergency.

  13. Need to be creative because trump totally dropped the ball. In Canada, they are opening shelters to house the infected all over the place with rapid testing stations. In the US NOTHING has been done…

    1. No, we’re living in a time when the U.S. is marginally being tested, and experiencing minor inconveniences.

This is just another day in most third and “second” world nations. The type of real life realities they experience daily. Americans are so sheltered from hardships that they seem to think running out of toilet paper is the end of the world.

  14. “we’ve had 2 months to prepare” and we used to listen to denials by a megalomaniac, and support by his glassy-eyed minions.

  15. “Uh, that satellite is a Democrat named Tony! Totally his fault! What? That was a hypothetical? … What’s a hypo-whatever-cal? I blame Tony!” — Delusional Donald
