@Jim Myers The scare story of Miami being underwater in 10 years dates back to the 80s! Comparing recent aerial photos to ones taken 30 years ago confirms things remain pretty much exactly the same. Facts though are of NO concern to those with religious beliefs………………
If we’d started working to mitigate climate change in 1989, the human species might actually have survived.
And back in 1989, even Republicans realized that this was a problem. Too bad the fossil fuel industry was more interested in profit than species survival, and lobbied against addressing the problem.
Human beings are constructed fundamentally for self destruction through violence and greed. It’s written into our genome. The question is can we overcome our genetics by reaching a self awareness that sees others as being as important as ourselves. IMO, we’ll destroy ourselves first.
