I know a WWII vet in my area. He likes to talk about his time served at the local soup kitchens in our area.
I’m glad he was able to talk about it..
He was probably so mentally wounded by his service that he couldn’t talk about it much! Not much different than the wars we are in for the last 20 years concerning soldiers being able to talk about it..
Cliff Indahl was a good friend of mine… He never talked about World War II… He was a medic at the Bulge… His wife would relate stories to me that he couldn’t possibly tell… PTSD was something recognized by the future! they called it shell shock back then. Hazel said even after 20 years after WWII he still would wakes up often at night time in cold sweats and Terror… He passed in 1969 of cancer… I still think of him often..
As a belgian man i want to thank those heroes for saving europe from facism . Now it’s time to get that dangerous evil clown out of the white house

Thousands of patriots sacrificed their lives for America and the world. Now, people claiming to be patriots, waving the American flag (as well as the confederate flag) think wearing a mask is too much of a sacrifice. That kind of attitude does not make America look great.

Tom Brokaw’s voice… dang. I grew up with that voice. He’s aged tremendously since my childhood. But his voice is exactly the same.
