I’ve served in the military and to see that captain walk off his ship was heartbreaking, especially when he was only trying to look out for his men.
I was in the navy and I agree with you that it was heartbreaking
However the captain made a mistake in reporting by writing a letter which I find extremely odd considering his position
There are other means of communication available and why didn’t he made use of them
The military has a certain chain of command which has to be followed
So as heartbreaking it is the captain made a poor and wrong decision even though he did it in his best intension to safe his crew on the ship
I do hope however that he will be reinstated
Increase That’s why you weren’t a high ranking military man. I feel for the Captain also, but he went outside the chain of command. He will be reappointed to another position and told to be silent, or be discharged.

@Joel Banning in the military, there are many different positions and jobs. Some of which will never see action. Does that make the service member any less brave? In other words different battle fronts. Trump has basically told the governors to be.nice to him if they want supplies and assistance. This was epic.
