Trump ‘Out-Nixoning, Nixon’: Obama Official Calls Out Trump’s Bribery And Stonewalling | MSNBC

Former Acting Solicitor General, Neal Katyal, joins Ari Melber saying bribery is the centerpiece of the public impeachment hearings, but democrats will also highlight the President’s conduct in stonewalling the investigation by stopping advisors from going to Congress to tell the truth. Katyal lauds “brave” officials for speaking out to investigators and slams the “terrible” republican defense of saying the call was ‘inappropriate’ but ‘not impeachable’. Aired on 11/11/19.

  1. “It wasn’t a crime because he didn’t succeed”??
That’s like saying, “I admit I tried to rob a bank, but it was out of money, so I’m innocent.”

  2. Extortion, bribery, blackmail, shakedown, obstruction of justice, lying, cheating, bullying, threats…Did we left anything out on the Orange Creep?🤔🙄

    1. I wish that is the case,we will have elected officials on both sides respect the Constitution and Law of this Great country

  3. It’s so disturbing that these people are just repeating the talking points. GOP-GRIFTER OLIGARCH PARTY just spread the propaganda!!! It was bribery and it is constitutionally impeachable. Period!!!

    1. Debra A. They have to keep breaking it down for the unread Americans. On this show you will learn something though .,.

    2. @call me Ishmael There’s another problem with mislabelling it bribery: it’s an offence to accept, as well as to proffer, a bribe.
Being extorted is not an offence, and it’s also different from blackmail, which often implies a previous offence on the part of the victim.
Extortion is the only one of the three in which the victim is invariably innocent.

    3. @Gottenhimfella
And the Ukraine was definitely victims. I saw the McConnell interview it looks like even though impeachment will pass through to the Senate, it’s highly unlikely Moscow Mitch will find him guilty and there Trump will stay and just get worse. Vote blue in 2020

  4. This is one of the smartest shows on television. Ari is great at explaining the law in language even a Trump supporter could understand.

    1. @Carolyn Talbot Thank you! You are courageous and very intelligent! Keep up the good work. Please, call your Republican Senators to ask for impeachment and removal if you haven’t already! And please donate to Democratic campaigns if you are able to. I can’t vote for Amy McGrath, but I’ve donated. Thank you again, and God bless you!

    2. @claude ghendrih I hear you, and you’re definitely not wrong. I have some mixed feelings, but I was heartened to see that the new Republican atty wasn’t getting traction in his efforts to discredit witnesses. This guy is the best they can do?
I’m going to sleep on today’s testimony and listen to the analysis in the morning before we all start the next round.
Please join me in a little prayer that Nunes and Jordan experience a crisis of faith in Dear Leader, and decide his ability to maintain the weapons-grade disinformation campaign is a bad risk.
I’m just waiting for one poorly considered Tweet to get under Jordan’s skin and cause a live, televised psychotic break!

Speaking of prayer, we’d be wise to include one for Iran because Trump definitely has entertained the idea of a hot war. We know this is true because he warned us Obama would use war with Iran to secure his reelection.

  5. When my, then 5 year old, adhd nephew purposely knocked every antique plate my grandmother had out of her cabinet, he couldn’t understand why everyone was upset, claiming “but I only broke one!” It’s one of those stories our family tell each other every time he does something crazy, as a way of explaining his difficulty in comprehending the magnitude of his actions. I can’t believe that same reasoning is now being used to explain and excuse the President of the United States.

  6. Please get him gone. Sick of his face, sick of his voice and sick of hearing about him. America has always done things in a big way. But the biggest scandal? The biggest fool for president?

    1. @Jay Squiggly
Toothless hillbilly capitalists on food stamps crack me up 😀 maga fools
The pussygrabber is a national security threat to this great nation

    2. @Jay Squiggly
THANKS OBAMA FOR THE 10 YR ECONOMIC RUN ,,,,Impeach and incarcerate the treasonous little mushroom dk pussygrabber DRUMPF

  7. WTF “Inappropriate” behavior!?!? Are they kidding? Nikki Haley is so full of herself – can’t even look at her

    1. Especially because we all know how much she hates Trump, and knows that he’s inept, corrupt, and beyond unfit to hold his office. She has literally laughed at him, until her book was published.
I’ve never seen so many grifters in my life; Trump brings them out of the woodwork.

    2. Clinton getting a BJ from an intern in the Oval Office was «inappropriate behavior ». Trump bribing a foreign power to dig out dirt about a political opponent is an impeachable crime. How can Nikki Haley confuse one with the other ?

    1. Trump also hires criminals, and creates them too. His whole admin is in sketchy water. Pretty much everyone in the white house, and his fam are under investigation and looking forward to indictments. Barr can only hold the DoJ back for so long

    1. I’d hoped it was but no,I was wrong again. Is not just the USA. Europe, Russia, Africa, Arabia, in fact everywhere you could mention.
The Orange moron sold himself as a change from the elites
Pfew! What hold my sick bucket.
He says he’s a billionaire? Even if he’s short of most of it he’s still in the . 0001%
Do me a favour take a dump in your golden toilet.

    1. I guess that’s what corporate donors will get ya. Keep them permanent tax cuts coming, Spanky. They don’t even like him. They’re laughing at him……all the way to the bank.

    2. @Wigit 💯💯💯 Absolutely, I just said something similar about her openly laughing at him last year. Faker, smh.
The Trump era has really brought grifters out of the woodwork. That MAGA money must be the good kind.

    1. It used to be a “Party over Country” problem. It is now a “One man over Country”
They are backing a man that referred to the Constitution as, “Your PHONY Emoluments Clause”, like Obama wrote it in.
How many like the 30% increase to $1+ Trillion deficit.
How many liked to watch the worst American military collapse since Saigon. Bombing their own ammunition and deserting allies on the battlefield while Russians laugh on Youtube sleeping in American bases and Turkish mercenaries post their murders of women and boys they caught on the roads.
This cult of personality is far beyond Jim Jones’s wildest dreams.

    2. DanSk451 All compliments of trump as directed by Puttin. American lives lost fighting with Kurds all for Puttin.

  8. It’s impeachable get over it. The donny-boy is an unlit jack-o’-lantern. It’s not quite bright in the inside.

  9. I hope Americans remember Haley’s pathetic argument in the future, if she ever raises her head above the political parapet again.

    1. She’s just another grifter, exploiting Trump’s base for personal gain.

And “base” is the operative word.

    2. Ged Farnan… we will… but, if we forget… the history books will remind us… and yet… the past ALWAYS repeats itself…

  10. 1:43 “inappropriate is like a president wearing a tan suit or something” 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 shout outs to Fox News when they made Obama wearing a tan suit a multi day scandal 😂

    1. @Ed G Indeed. Don’t you find it interesting that Trump is blocking all first-hand witnesses from testifying? Surely they would be able to provide exculpatory evidence?
On reflection, I suppose that would only be true if there was any …..
