@Robert Athey That is a .3% death rate. You do realize that means 3 out of 1000 will die, 50 out of 1000 people or 5% will be in an ICU and 150 out of 1000 will be in a hospital. It is one thing to say a percentage, it is quite another actually comprehend what that means. Hospitals will be overwhelmed if we let this thing go.
According to the CDC, using the same numbers you used, which is fairly accurate using the CDC’s scenario #5, but they had been using a 10x estimate for the number of case. It looks now like it is closer to 6 or 7 times which will decrease the recovery and increase the death rate.
Regardless, using relative CDC numbers for the flu, the coronavirus is 20X, actually about 25x, more deadly than the flu.
