Trump’s 2020 Implosion Powered By Mounting Backlash To Racism | The Beat With Ari Melber | MSNBC 1

Pres. Trump trails in most 2020 polls against a wide backlash to his presidency, including the racial justice protests that spread across the nation this year. In a special report, MSNBC’s Ari Melber traces the legal, political and cultural roots of racism in America – and reports the evidence for why the 2020 election presents a stark choice on race. “This is what is on the ballot now,” Melber says, citing Trump’s record and words, “and every voter must answer — are you for or against this?” (This is the closing excerpt of a broader special report.) (This interview is from MSNBC’s “The Beat with Ari Melber, a news show covering politics, law and culture airing nightly at 6pm ET on MSNBC. ). Aired on 10/28/2020.

  4. A Tribute in Memory of Mr. George Floyd

Don’t close the door please let the light shine in.
Whispering sounds that echo off the walls.
Straps laced too tightly no room for me to move.
    A blinding glance confuses me.

Words can’t express the pain of false bravado.
Piercing stares from the tormented few.
    All sides suffering
Can’t take this life no more.
Nothing to chance for a man to break free.

I only need one eye to be open.
One ear to listen to what I’m trying to say.
Just take a moment to come inside and stand with me.
    Everyday’s a nightmare
I need someone to come save me.

As I lay distressed pleading please help me mama.
I see no beacon my life’s growing dim.
Robbed of tomorrow can’t help those who were chosen.
It’s up to you where we go from here.

If I could rise I’d speak up for my freedom with every breath I take that God has given me.
Come take a chance and take a stand in harmony.
There will be no tomorrow if we don’t unite to be free.

The violence that follows will only fuel their hate.
Take the path that carries your voice of change.
Let’s lay to rest and and put an end to this shame.
Be the hope your children need you to be.

If I could rise I’d speak up for my freedom with every breath I take that God has given me.
Come take a chance and take a stand in harmony.
Everyday’s a nightmare I need someone to come stand for me.

There will be no tomorrow if we don’t unite to be free.

Rest in Peace Mr. George Floyd

*Joe Biden…a president for unity, peace, justice, decency, and no tolerance for racism and hatred.*

    • @Scott Allen please think. Where were you in February ?

    • It’s funny how many times a Trump supporter says something and when I ask for proof of what they said they disappear.

    • @The Omega Man, provide a link if you can. If you don’t provide a link we’re done. I will have shown you to have no credibility, which was way too easy.

    • @The Omega Man, that’s the difference between me and you. If I make a claim I can back it up with proof. You make a claim and do anything but back it up with proof. But you could prove me wrong and provide a link.

    • @Scott Allen can’t you think for yourself. Can’t you look up simple facts ?? What’s your problem ?? Search it . Grow up

  7. On November 4th, can’t wait to see the news paper read…”Trump, your Fired”

Vote – One person at a time. That’s what I’ve been doing with these comments; trying to reach out to people one at a time to make a difference. Am I succeeding? I’ll never know. But if just one more person starts wearing a mask (and covering their nose or it is worthless), washing their hands a full 20 seconds and social distancing – I’ll take it. Spread the word – kindness & compassion are the best antidotes to anger, pain and fear. Encourage people to do their own research beyond social media. Like every vote counts – so does every mask. Please be respectful too. Stay safe out there everyone. We can do this. As usual Mr. Melber – Right on. Someday I’ll quote some lyrics for you…

  10. Literally the most disgusting ‘man’ alive

    • @UCZCy-0q8rABSNwLoTY_iQyA The South had more plantation’s than anybody. Y’all have Confederate flags and Ku Klux Klan people in Florida. I rather deal with gang violence than white supremacy groups. Because Jacksonville Florida is extremely Prejudice and racist. And Pensacola Florida is another area that’s racist and Prejudice.

    • @UCZCy-0q8rABSNwLoTY_iQyA You are not from here so you don’t know what I defend. But the state that you live in is incredibly racist to black people. And that’s something that I wouldn’t be proud of at all.

    • @Oliver B I like how you deleted your statement.

    • Dinerokid 16 they’re deleting my comments. I guess they can’t handle the truth.

    • @Oliver B What you said wasn’t truth homie. What you said was ignorance. Because for what I heard them Haitian Street gangs and them Jamaican street gangs y’all got down there in Florida. They kept the murder rate popping. And top six was one of them. It’s plenty of gangs from Chicago down there in Florida. You have Gangster Disciples in Florida followed by Latin Kings and Satan Disciples and a bunch of other gangs from Chicago in Florida. And you got plenty of Bloods and Crips in Florida to. Next time you need to fix your own backyard bro. Before you talk about somebody else’s backyard. Because top six kept the murder rate in Florida cracking.

America talks a big talk about bigotry, caring for its poor, and being a “leader of the free world”. Time to start acting like it. Trump was voted in by America’s moral underbelly.

    • @Billy Pardew

    • @Billy Pardew Maybe it’s time for the electoral college to be up dated, after all it was put in place because average Americans didn’t know the candidates, and in the horse and buggy age they often didn’t. But we now live in the age of high speed telecommunications so why is an archaic system like the electoral college needed when all Americans know the candidates?

    • @Tom Nicholson G W Bush too.

    • What has “Ukraine” biden done to benefit the american ppl? I’ll wait….

  12. Regardless of what YOU believe, go OUT and VOTE!

  13. These Black Americans from yesteryear are hero’s. Let them serve as inspiration for people of all colors who believe in equality.
