  1. The hurdles very technical and running the finals without a semi on the same day would surely throw them off

  2. “Oral Tracey”

Him mother know say him did ago chat nuff

I’ve never seen a more insensitive person. One bad race and he’s off the team. I think all of us know that Mcleod is faster than the Top three finishers.

    Congrats to them though

    1. @manju manju I don’t know if you’re eyes are working well, but the last time, I checked it’s an obstacle race.

Even though a win isn’t a sure thing in the 100mh, he’s still the fastest Jamaican in the event.

    2. He is faster and maybe would medal that not certain knowing how the hurdles are set up.. but what I believe they are saying is the top 3 ran for their places and it would be insensitive to take them off . They all worked an trained for their places I am a huge fan of OMAR maybe Jamaica can give him a pass as defending champion without removing other athletes that would only cause more drama among them.

  3. well i got news for you all..he was the last hope for Jamaica to stand on the podium and ya’ll know that

    1. @Novelette Anderson Nonsense that is why Tracey reminded us of how they wanted VCB to take Shelly out .If they had done that Shelly would not be running for us

    2. @mickey!! Let me tell you something about Jamaica and Jamaicans !!! If you beat the champion in Jamaica!!! You are the new world champion!!! Fear is fear

    1. Not one the trials rules are stupid for a small pool of runners as we Jamaica have not like the USA where the pool is larger more competitive

    2. @Gary Patrick true why leave the one which more likely to give a medal and why this rule about only world championship the defending person ok need to complete

    1. @John Beefcock kendra harris was world record holder in 2016 and she didnt even made it to the olympics back then. Then she got a silver in the world champs 2019. This is hurdles not flats. Its anybody race. ABSOLUTELY NOBODY CAN PREDICT ANY MEDAL.

    2. @tanya kimbe mark this day. I predicted that grant Holloway will win the 110mh by a mile and a half.

  4. Julian Fort did not finish the finals. Other athletes did not enter nor make the finals. So it is not the first 3 finishers that face the starter in Tokyo. It is the selectors’ decision. Omar McLeod experienced cramp. He must be given the chance to defend his Olympic title. Furthermore, to double up on the 4x100m relay. He is more consistent of running sub 10 seconds for the 100m. Maverick, think again….

    1. You must be joking? Then why have a trials? you must think jamaica a poppy show. We have integrity and honor here.

    2. Phillip Sutherland I totally agree with your statement. If he is world champion he should get a chance to defend his title especially knowing that he his running very well at the moment and in better shape that all the other athletes in that race.

  5. It’s an intersting rule. I believe there are or should be some stipulations. I now immediately remember Merlene Ottey & Peta-Gaye Dowdie incident….Anyway, I would like to ask the Maverick his honest opinion…If Fraser-Pryce finished let’s say 6th (hypothetically) in the 100m trials, would she not still be allowed to go to Tokyo given she has the world leading time 10.63s? I believe that’s a loop hole in the rule…or I may be wrong. Obviously, McLeod is not in the same boat, but I think if it were our darling Fraser-Pryce…road would block because we all want to see Shelly duss out Sha’Carri in Tokyo. And of course continued form would have to support the inclusion of any athlete under such circumstances.

    1. No exceptions to the rule Shelly would have to just watch the 100 from the stands or the tv. That’s why he made the point about VCB, when Shelly outran her in 2008 n she couldn’t run in the 100 nobody knew Shelly and people were saying the same thing then that she should’ve gotten an exception.
Point is everything happens for a reason, if u nuh qualify u just nuh qualify let those who earned their spot run.

    2. The rules have changed several times in attempts to address the probability of circumstances like these. It has been realised that the present rule is the best in terms of eliminating corruption, favouritism, controversy, perception, etc etc. Truth is that every coming into the trials were aware and were also satisfied with the rules. The same way that the rule doesn’t make provision for a situation like what McLeod now faces,, it’s the same way that it could have also favoured him if the circumstances were opposite. Bottom line is that they can’t change the rule each time it doesn’t work in favour of a favourite athlete. This is by far the most effective rule we have tried. Going forward I think what JAAA and other bodies should lobby for is for the Olympic Committee to offer each country a single free entry for a defending champion. This would mean 10 to 15 extra athletes as not many countries win gold medals.

    3. But the thing is these guys earn there spot it would be unfair to them just hope for the best it happen with Shelly and Veronica and see Shelly go and win gold nobody believe she would win gold but she believe in herself and she take home gold

  7. How the men team so weak and dem leave out Omar McCloud ?dem definitely nah win no medal inna the event

  8. When you do good people praise you but the day you make a mistake you get thrown under the bus.But let’s see how this plays out.

    1. So who got thrown under the bus now? He competed in the same event under the same rules same circumstance, made his own mistake that cost him his place. What’s so hard in that to understand????

  9. Y’all just thrown away your Olympic and world champion for an old man and some burnt out NCAA athletes ? No wonder why the track and field is dying out in Jamaica. Imagine if that was Usain bolt? What would have been the logical option?

  10. Honestly I feel it for him it rough but I hope now he bounce back and try again this is not the end just try to get his body back in rhythm with the hurdles being relax and just concentrate on himself perfect your technique have clean hurdling block out distractions and keep running his own race. I believe he wanted to do so well that it just overwhelmed him YES i know that 12.81 from the night before had something to do with it.

  11. While we will miss Omar this time.. New hurdlers will need a chance too to prove themself.. may the lucky person win on the day..🤔
