  1. US Constitution ARTICLE I Legislative Branch
    Section 4: Elections
The Times, Places, and Manner of holding Elections for Senators and Representatives shall be prescribed in each State by the Legislature thereof, but the Congress may at any time by Law make or alter such Regulations.

Signed in convention September 17, 1787, and ratified June 21, 1788. A portion of Article I, Section 2, was changed by the 14th Amendment; a portion of Section 9 was changed by the 16th Amendment; a portion of Section 3 was changed by the 17th Amendment, and a portion of Section 4 was changed by the 20th Amendment.

    1. And showing an ID to prove you are a US citizen doesn’t in any way shape or form infringe that right.

    2. @NHRA gold
      FACT CHECK:
HR-1 does not “ban” voter identification laws. Instead, it offers a workaround to state voter IDs for individuals who do not have the means to obtain identification. Voters may alternatively present a sworn, written statement to an election official under penalty of perjury that states the voter is eligible to vote.

–Newsweek/ Did House Democrats Vote to Ban Voter ID Nationwide with HR-1?

  2. I keep hearing we need more restrictions to prevent voting fraud. Me personally, haven’t seen an ounce of evidence of voting fraud lol still waiting though.

    1. @BigBad Daddy Quite of few people, Republicans voting on behalf of a dead relative, was found.

  3. President Joe Biden NEEDS to allow the Senate President, VP Kamala Harris, to declare the 60 vote requirement to end a filibuster as being unconstitutional. Such a ‘declaration’ has been used in the past [Nixon did so – do the research] and resulted in filibuster reform. Of course, Moscow Mitch and the other trupTURD FASCIST RACIST Senators would lose their minds…but, needs be!

    1. If you look into the mechanics of the filibuster, it is actually a motion for cloture, intended to end a debate that has gone on too long. It is not a motion to prevent debate before it even starts. Proper parliamentary procedure thus would be to put the bill on the floor for debate, with a rule that does not allow a cloture motion to be brought until all Senators have spoken to it. Not allowing them to speak is an unconstitutional violation of their First Amendment rights. In other Parliaments, cloture (or closure) is achieved by a motion to “put the question” (to a vote), and a motion to put the question before it has been debated would be highly irregular and an abuse of power. So it might be reasonable for a 60-40 vote to be required for a cloture motion to succeed, it is totally unreasonable for cloture to be the default assumption, requiring a 60-40 majority to overcome.

    2. @WilliamOccamensis Your reference to First Amendment violation is another constitutional question to consider on how the filibuster is currently used. But then, there’s really nothing ‘constitutional’ about the filibuster because there’s no ‘filibuster provision’ in the US Constitution – it’s really a ‘made up’ Senate rule. The current version of the Senate filibuster, which essentially establishes a 60-vote supermajority rule to enact legislation in the Senate, is unconstitutional because it denies states “equal Suffrage in the Senate” in violation of Article V of the Constitution. As to whether President Joe Biden would allow Vice President Kamala Harris the latitude to exercise her power as Senate President to declare that ‘supermajority’ threshold unconstitutional remains to be seen. But, there’s precedent for VP Harris to do so successfully…and I hope VP Harris does so – too much at stake to not do so.

  4. Hardball: Manchin drops his support for the filibuster or he doesn’t get his infrastructure bill.

  5. Manchin answers to his corrupt conservative corporate donors, wanna pressure Manchin, Sinema, and the rest, don’t just put the vice on them, put the real vice on their donors!

  6. To Joe manchin. ” please sir, can I have the right to vote.” Joe manchin. “You want more! How dare you want more”? ” you should be happy with my Republican friends are willing to give you”.

  7. Joe Munchkin: I knew Jim Crow, Jim Crow was my friend and I will stand by his dream of a White Only Voting System

  8. We cant wait to vote joe manchin out of office in west Virginia. We send him to WASHINGTON DC to benefit west Virginia and America. Instead he trying to make friends in WASHINGTON D.C. not signing any bill to benefit the west Virginia, and America. We will vote him out office then he can focus on being friends with the REPUBLICAN party

  9. Showing id to prove your a citizen isn’t racist, or voter suppression!!! Common sense ,which apparently you all lack!
