  1. “Other then slavery” is not a comparison. Simply stating that under slavery these actions have not been used and he is very correct. when you get fined for walking in a park or sitting on a bench it comes in second to slavery in civil liberties violation.
Attorney General Bill Barr says, other than slavery, coronavirus stay-at-home orders are the “greatest intrusion on civil liberties in American history.” MSM is the virus

    1. @- “other than slavery which was a different kind of restraint”

If you cut it out like that sure but that’s not how he said it. He specifically said slavery was a DIFFERENT kind of restraint than house arrest. Not similar.

    2. @FirstName LastName dictionary says –Definition of other than

      (Entry 1 of 2)
: with the exception of : except for, besides

With that definition we replace other than with “except for slavery coronavirus stay-at-home orders are the “greatest intrusion on civil liberties in American history.

    3. @Krista Dictionary definition of Different (as in different kind of restraint)

      adjective
      1.
not the same as another or each other; unlike in nature, form, or quality.
      2.
      distinct; separate.

      You were misunderstanding?

    4. @FirstName LastName It seems the controversy is in “You know, putting a national lockdown, stay at home orders, is like house arrest. OTHER THAN slavery, which was a different kind of restraint, this is the greatest intrusion on civil liberties in American history. (” other than” is “except for” slavery)

    5. @Krista it seems there’s no controversy. You’re reading the start of the sentence without reading the rest and ignoring the context of the phrase as a whole. He specifically carves out that slavery was A DIFFERENT KIND OF RESTRAINT. Not sure how much more straight forward someone needs to be.

Go learn some basic English skills.

    1. I agree. Their comments and even paraphrasing of his comments were out of context. Did you also notice how short the clip of Barr was, so it was certainly taken out of context.

    1. Morgothlord47 I’ve heard extra protection from Covid is the use of tin foil hats. The uv light reflects and helps eliminate the virus

  2. You chose a WAPO employee to comment on Barr without a contrasting view? How much is Trudeau paying you guys this month?

  3. This is how the united states has remained the most infected country in the world for half a year and still raising by almost 50k cases a day.
