“Other then slavery” is not a comparison. Simply stating that under slavery these actions have not been used and he is very correct. when you get fined for walking in a park or sitting on a bench it comes in second to slavery in civil liberties violation.

@Krista it seems there’s no controversy. You’re reading the start of the sentence without reading the rest and ignoring the context of the phrase as a whole. He specifically carves out that slavery was A DIFFERENT KIND OF RESTRAINT. Not sure how much more straight forward someone needs to be.
