    1. @Rusty Shakleford they didn’t know how bad this was all going to get hence the novel part. Predictions were based off of computer models because there were so many unknowns. The hospital I work in has changed protocols multiple times due to emerging data.

      also you forgot 2 important points
      1. the economy could have not been effected nearly as badly by the lockdown, but trump chose to give money to his rich friends instead of the people. no other country’s economy was as badly effected, and they had even stricter lockdowns
      2. we could be re opened already but trump bungled the virus response, so now we HAVE to remain closed longer.

It’s interesting that they featured Tuscaloosa, Alabama: I had noticed by the end of May the quantity of people who have died from COVID in the US so far was the same as than the entire population of Tuscaloosa…but that was over a month ago. Since then we’ve gone past the populations of Gainesville Florida, Hartford Connecticut and Thousand Oaks, California and we’re closing in on Columbia, South Carolina by way of Topeka Kansas next.
    If you use city populations as a yardstick it’s a good way to get your head around the scale of it: imagine that the entire population of a city that size dies over a 4 month period.

  7. We, live in Texas. My wife and me tested Covid 19 positive on last Monday(rapid test from an emergency center), after four days of testing, we haven’t received a single phone call from health dept./state regarding contact tracking, or anything in related to Covid19, there is no records, no follow up, nothing. This is very scary, we did our first covid test from County and waited for 12 days to get the results:( by that time we had more symptoms and went to emergency center for rapid test and got result as +Ve. Whats the use of testing and giving results after 10 or 12 days. By that time it would have been spread to many people. We need more efficient testing, isolation and follow up. What’s the use of just testing and sharing the results after 10-12 days and then not doing any follow up?

    3. Matthew you seem very surprised in your comment. Contact tracing is a thing you do in the beginning. you are aware there is 50k new cases just today in your country ? Too late for tracing all u can do at this point is lockdown big clusters.

      side note : I hope you will be okay, take tons of vitamins C, and zink, and Artemesia Annua tea if you can get some quickly.

    3. Baby goat Cases are spiking! There are states with low testing that has more cases than states with high testing. A hospital in Houston is at 100 percent capacity!! And other hospitals are getting to that percentage. We need to wear masks to prevent infecting other people, especially people with compromise immune systems!! And physical distance.

  14. When Americans are so lazy and self-centered, they’d rather focus on the end all be all vaccine than go through a little discomfort in social distancing and mask wearing. Contact tracing also seems poorly implemented which defeats the purpose of testing.

    2. @Grackein You can’t deny that compared to other countries the US is failing utterly and compared to let’s say Asia, Europe. You have one of the best medical facilities in the world. But it’s to late everyone who hasn’t worn a mask 3 weeks after outbreak is just stupid and in my opinion actually deserves to die because those people are risking the lives of others. On the other hand I really feel sorry for every sane American which won’t be safe even with masks anymore because it’s already spread to fast and most people are infected.

      The US has lower death rate than Germany, Italy, France, Spain and the UK. Stop terrorizing the children, leftists already had them terrified by telling them they had only12 years to live because of Global warming…another lie…they won’t have mental problems at all. haha!. The flu kills 70,000 a year, we aren’t at twice that, so, it’s a real bad flu, that’s all…not the end of the world. China allowed the flu to spread worldwide, Trump tried to stop it, all he gets is bitching. 20 to 50 million died of the Spanish Flu, this isn’t that, you wouldn’t know it by the left-wing media coverage. Shame!!
