  1. Deep in oil. What a Sandtrap… The tar pit of the republican party. What a bunch of dinosaurs.

    1. @stinkystewhead Untrue. Numerous states DENIED the right to vote and the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT made them allow it. Screw your states’ rights.

People no longer tend to define themselves as being from a state, but more often define themselves ideologically.

    2. Grim Reaper is coming to push a bunch of other gray hairs off the hill, retirement age is 67 and how many are over that threshold, greed has destroyed our country!

  2. Fossil fuel manipulation is killing the planet and all that inhabit it. FFS when will money mean less than sentient beings?

    1. @Craig Crawford We’re 40 years PAST fixing this on an individual level. We need widescale solutions. Also, 26% of China’s energy is green and only 17% of America’s energy is green. This means that we’re not taking as much advantage of opportunities in manufacturing as we can.

This should be something that both parties can agree on.

    2. It has just been announced that channel 4, who exposed this, is about to be sold by Boris Johnson in an attempt to block this kind of story I suspect. It is currently independent of Rupert Murdoch and political influence, by law.

    3. @Larry Richards you’re talking about reserves, meaning what’s already on the surface, not what’s underground. If we didn’t do any drilling and just sticked to the reserves, it would “run out” much sooner than that. Oil is the second most abundant fluid on earth, napkin math says there’s still 500 years worth of oil in the states alone.

    4. Nothing is killing the planet. Right now earth is in very good shape. Slight uptick in CO2 levels has caused increased forest growth around the world. The world also enjoyed generally record harvest around the world. Everything is going along just great.

    1. Yes, who would have thought that such a fine, upstanding citizen would become an immoral stooge for the oil companies.

    2. Dont forget he bought his daughter the CEO seat Mylan and was the vehicle for their merging with Pfizer. Mylan is the second largest International generic med creator for Plaquenil ….aka Hydroxychloroquin… he also pulled an “aunt Becky” and bought her undergrad and masters degree at WVU as well as her honors notion on graduating with her Masters without her even showing up for syllabus days of the courses. She also murdered people by upping epi pens by 16x for the consumer price over night and took a 6 figure pay hike.

Oh, and dont forget his part as Governor of WV in knowingly looking away and allowing waterway regulations to be lose enough for their dumping of PFOAs and knowing its toll in heart disease, T2D, immunocompromised states, immunodeficiency, obesity, high cholesterol, and many of the underlying comorbidities that make people high risk for COVID19 and known to significantly lower vaccine efficacy. All for his buds at the DowJones via Dupont/Chemours by establishing those lapses in the EPA to coverup their knowingly poisoning our citizens here in WV.

    1. @Colin Black And all the money you don’t know about courtesy of Citizen United. But yes, the same Republicans, some corporate democrats and SCOTUS are responsible for it.

    2. Way past time to change our lobbying laws. They are not PEOPLE, they are businesses in the money making business not the protectors of US citizens or the world ecosystems. They only want your money. We subsidize these corporations with our tax dollars to ruin our world. Are we dumb or what?

  3. Sinema and Manchin…not a surprise since they’re fighting everything their own party wants to benefit everyone. Manchin refused to vote for a $15.00 minimum wage too. Oh well, if we have to clean out the GQP, might as well deal with Democrats who are tainted by greed or addicted to power at the same time.

    1. @a aarons see above “dupont” ^^ re: Chris Coons. It’s even more repulsive when you realize that McCain and Biden’s son died because of the exposures of PFAS in burn pits. Just like firefighter in CA who were exposed to the firefoam (c6 type PFAS) and 9/11 first responders.

    2. The problem is that inaction has asymmetrical results. People who were excited to get a newfound majority in Congress will lose faith and stop voting and those who profit financially also gain politically.

  4. glad Chris is reporting this. need the corporate media to stay on this but they of course won’t.

    1. @Steve Young exactly. If the right and left could just leave their culture war BS alone and look at actual policy. They’d see we are all getting screwed and the owners/decision makers in politics and corporations stir the culture pot to keep tension between Americans. Social and cultural tension is the way they keep power, Americans are distracted fighting about bullsh*t while they get richer and plan their next heist.

    2. @TheChonaman Incorrect. “all media” is not corporate AKA sponsored through donations, ads by big corporations. TYT is not, Democracy Now is not, NPR is not, Reuters is not. the AP is not…

    3. While I appreciate the pointers to “independent media” – all of them great orgs in their own right – you will find that many are legally incorporated – and therefore “Corporate media” in the legal sense. This confers legal and other benefits. It’s not a death sentence or a disqualifying black mark necessarily. NPR is a non-profit that I listen to regularly and also sustain with contributions.

  5. Oil lobbyists trying to encourage senators to protect their profits.
Meanwhile conservatives on the Court uphold dark money contributions to campaigns.
And these republican senators vote down any attempt to fund green energy infrastructure.

Yeah, nothing going on here. Nope, not at all. 🙄

    1. We don’t have a replacement for oil or natural gas. If you say solar and wind could replace. Then why are the wind generators never running in Washington state? Cuz it wasn’t efficient enough to fix them.

    2. There is a way to do just about anything. Blue gas is a product that would be made to be free of carbon emissions. Hydrogen is the holy grail for the gas companies. Electric cars versus hydrogen cars.

    3. @Louis Gunn As solar runs fine, turbines are more to help out at night, but you still have to maintain them. Like cars, If you don’t change the oil, they will break. They are not all broke around the world. Maybe Washington state can’t do what the rest of the world does easily.

    4. @Jed Burnell well as I travel around the more than Washington State has broke down wind turbines. California does too, Seen some in Oklahoma also.

  6. It sure will be nice come the day that the people of The United States are no longer slaves living under the thumb of big oil…

  7. In the US, money is far more important than the health and very lives of citizens. Money is God. I hope the younger generations will fix the mess the older generations have made. Their future depends on it.

  8. Pass voting rights legislation that also eliminates dark money donations to political parties.

    1. Wish we had more reporting like this. Which legislators are taking money from the big corporations and then in turn helping those who literally pay them? These are the kind of stories we need reported.

Many years ago Wisconsin had a senator Proxmire who gave out “Golden Fleece Awards” to highlight government programs that wasted money. In his last term he refused to take any campaign contributions or do any campaigning. He simply paid the filing fee from his own pocket and told the people that if they wanted him still then re-elect him. He won in a landslide and main reason being was that he never put any group or company’s interests above the people. Simpler, happy times back then. Today this seems impossible.

Or another good show would be emulate a Ukraine show called “The Truth.” Since they have so much propaganda coming out of Russia they have a daily hour long program that does nothing but debunk the flood of these false stories everyday.

  9. When it comes to politics, money does all the talking. The longer they stay in office, the more corrupt they become.

    2. @Frank A. Roose Hydrochloroquine is produced by at least 6 manufacturers in as many countries. As far as putting his daughter through school, all good parents do that.

    3. @Deborah Freedman So if one can’t afford to put their child/children through school, does that make them not a good parent? Kind of sounds like that’s what you’re implying….

    1. you have electric devices, you consume food, you use transport, you buy products that need transport….

      YOU do not care.

    2. they dont care because they most likely wont get hit by the consequences or be dead before.

    3. You might have a health problem but generally the planet is doing very well. With a slight uptick in CO2 we see rapid forest growth in the world enjoyed a record crop harvest. Things are going along very well.

  10. Cree Indian prophecy: When the last tree is cut down, the last fish eaten and the last stream poisoned, you will realize that you cannot eat money.”

    1. @MrBisque It’s also there in the song Reclamation by the Thrash/Groove Metal band Lamb of God

    2. But those responsible done live in these places and will look after themselves, while you choke, starve and die of thirst unfortunately.

    3. With a slight uptick in the CO two trees are growing out a phenomenal rate. What you see great forest growth around the world. Even with forest being cut down performing needs in some areas around the equator. We see tremendous forest roof in Europe.
During the last harvesting season in the world has enjoyed tremendous crop output also. So in order to quote another old Indian saying, a Rolling Stone gathers momentum.

  11. This should be the headline in EVERY News cast every night, until we stop allowing industries, businesses and corporations to BUY our friggin’ elected leaders! Their “bottom line” is literally destroying the Planet.

The one and only one we have. It’s infuriating as F 🔥

  12. Joe Manchin: Why does he oppose everything overwhelming public opinion, Democrat and Republican, stands for. Obviously he knows where his paycheck comes from. And it’s not US.

    1. ITS AMAZING HOW LEGISLATURE ALLOWS LAWS ON THE BOOKS KNOWING THEY ARE UNCONSTITUTIONAL…

    2. They didn’t mention Coons who is Biden’s right hand man. This man named Manchin, Sinema, Chris Coons and a few other Democrats. These are all the same Democrats that joined Republicans in voting down the minimum wage increase. They are also the ones that fought to get rid of campaign finance reform and forcing politicians to post their donors and how much they received from them where the public has access to, both of these were written in the For the People bill and they were the first thing to go when “Bipartisan” talks started.

  13. “It will get cool again, believe me.” Chief Meteorologist Dr. Trump during a meeting.
