As long as no major damage is done, it’ll be back flying within a year or two.

That was one hell of a landing!
It’s sad to see for an aviation fan like myself, as so many of these historic planes have been lost in conflict and post war aviation accidents. You look at it and see the hard work of many individuals to keep this war bird air worthy. I’m just glad that the pilot was able to set her down gently and it looks like she is salvageable. Hopefully, she’ll be tickling the sky again in a year or two.

That’s a lot of salt water damage. That thing will need to be completely stripped and cleaned.

I think it was one of the Navy’s 5 TBM Avengers from Flight 19 flying out of Ft. Lauderdale that was lost and never found over the Bermuda Triangle in 1945, that must have gotten trapped in a time/space warp and returned.
Perfect emergency water landing. He held the nose up just enough and bled off the speed Perfectly.

Credit to the pilot and glad he escaped unhurt. Hopefully the TBM can be restored to flying condition in the near future.
Lost my cousin in “The Battle of Britain” plane and pilot never found. Amazing, how this brought back a flashback to a lost family member.
