  1. I am so happy that myself as a Canadian can freely bring weed into the usa…..oh wait…I can’t. Actually..I would go to jail for this. Hmmm

    1. The Federal Marijuana Laws don’t get enforced anymore. Each individual State has to vote on it. So far 38 states have legalized Medical Marijuana, plus the District Of Columbia. I live in Michigan, we voted to legalize Medical Marijuana, then we voted again to legalize Recreational.

    2. @Rogue One
Please try getting on a plane, letting them find you’re stash going through security.
I’d love to know how that works out for you.

    3. @Rogue One I’m glad, in Europe there’s no guns or shootings. Not as much as America at least, it’s an everyday thing.

    4. You sent me your acting like people from the US is defending her and saying oh no why couldn’t you bring weed into Russia no dipset everybody and they comment is saying she gets what she deserve for doing it now quit acting like you doing some big kids saying oh I can bring weed into the us as a Canada

  2. We must all pay attention to the laws of the lands we visit. Be careful everyone. Learn from this.

    1. @Dutch Berry thx. I did. Did you? She said it was an oversight….an accident. Are you putting in prison for an accident? Do you deserve prison for an accident?

    2. @JCcl fruits of the Spirit of course she would say it’s an accident do you just believe everything you hear ? You expect her to be like yeah I knew they were in there

    3. @Gd Gf now that we have ascertained i watched the news…we now return to my initial comment…we don’t know what was in her mind. Best not to assume. Blessings.

  3. Forward Ukraine! Glory to the heroes! Kazakhstan is with you! Death to the enemies! Russia on its knees!

  4. Well, she did commit a crime, how come there’s not a big push to get people out of jail for the same crime in this country? I mean who goes to a country like Russia and not make sure that you have absolutely nothing on you that could get you in trouble

    1. F— Griner… the bozo broke the law and now has to deal with the consequences. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

    2. Free the Jan. 6th prisoners. No, I don’t support Trump, I can’t stand the Mutt and the Biden Crime Family is a nightmare. People got to wake up. Our country is all but lost.

  5. I think 9 years is excessively harsh, but she may have a new appreciation for the USA once she gets out.

    1. @Sweet Salvation THE MERCENARY by former 2 REP French Foreign Legion SNIPER now on Amazon prime and streaming

  6. I hope this will be a lesson to all Americans who always feels previledged whenever they are in a foreign county.

    1. @The Ultimate Reductionist given your logic america is also lawless or should be, we only created war and attack the middle east on a regular basis regardless of their laws. Dont be foolish, war is different than breaking a law within a country border.

    2. F— Griner… the bozo broke the law and now has to deal with the consequences. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes….

    3. Nobody does what do you mean the Americans that feel privileged in other countries I don’t f****** feel good with you in America and yes I’m f****** why and no I do not feel privilege you can f*** else is that dumb s***

    4. @Arby Jack BLM would be eradicated like the disease – the cockroaches and parasites they are, if they ever tried to pull any of their sh*t over there, the way they did over here , in the US, a couple years ago… BLM and the brain dead morons that support them, are precisely what is wrong with this country and why everything is so f-cked up in western society.

    5. @Moonlight Pixie maybe keep on sucking on Biden’s little pee pee and see what you can have come out? 😂😂😂

    1. Uh… Before I call you a “GODDAMN LIAR”, you might want to look up her resume…

      She’s a WNBA GOAT!!!

    2. @sherman mcclesky I’d love to see the WNBA for one week with Kevin Durant in it. He’d score 90 on a bad night.

  7. I just hope this shows people, that when you leave the USA your rights are changed immediately in many ways. I hope she doesn’t do the full sentence,i also hope she never uses her celebrity status to not care about serious laws in each country she visits. ❤️

    1. @D Wade they all do it though. I can remember fifty years ago reading newspaper articles about dumb Hollyweird types getting pinched for weed in their luggage thinking they have some kind of magic protection from the law because they are highly paid for pretending to be other people. Idiots.

    2. Damn right…

      This isn’t a BLACK/WHITE/ OTHER issue.

While stationed in Germany, I was told many of times that the Germans LOVE AMERICA, but they can’t stand AMERICANS!!!

We’re ARROGANT; so when we’re caught committing a crime, in THEIR COUNTRY, they’re going to make an example of YOU. Food for thought.

  8. I get that to the US, 9 years is crazy. BUT, she wasn’t in the US. She’s been playing there 7 years. We would think she’d know what not to do or what not to bring. There are other Americans trapped for things as equally mundane, she can’t be treated any more special the Joe citizen.

    1. F— Griner… the bozo brokethe law and now has to deal with the consequences. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

  9. Nine years in prison for possessing what can be bought over the counter at one of SIX businesses within 3 blocks of my house.
I don’t smoke weed, and I don’t even use CBD oil products. But the stuff is a miracle for my dad’s Parkinson’s disease symptoms.

  10. Did she have marijuana? Yes. Did she bring it into the country? Yep. Is marijuana illegal in the country she entered? Yep. Did she go to trial? Yep. Was she found guilty? Yep. So “wrongful” is the wrong adjective.

Do I think marijuana should be illegal? Nope. Do I think that Griner’s sentence too harsh? Yep. Do I think the only reason that this is getting press because she is good at basketball? Yep. If this had happened to Joe Blow tourist would anyone be paying attention? Nope.

  11. A *”Mistake”* is when you do something not knowing the consequences. Not knowing you did something wrong. What she did was not a mistake. She deliberately broke the law in another country. Good Bye. See you in 9 years.

  12. It wasn’t a mistake, you acted in total contempt of Russian laws Griner. I say round the sentence up to 10 years. Do your time Griner. Justice must be served. Russia does not want their country and cities to decline into drug infested cities like we have in the U.S.A. I can certainly respect that.
