Watch CNN’s exclusive report on Russian general who oversaw atrocities

The US and international community has accused Russia of war crimes in Ukraine as Russian artillery has devastated Ukrainian cities and lives. But it has been difficult to associate specific generals to specific crimes, the key to actually carrying out war crimes prosecutions. In Kharkiv, CNN has seen the aftermath of attacks targeting civilians using indiscriminate cluster munitions — a war crime. In a two-month-long investigation, CNN can reveal the commander responsible for these attacks. CNN's Nima Elbagir reports. #CNN #News

  1. This lady also did the massacre analysis melted on Nigeria youth by the current Nigeria government. Every details just like this was perfect. Good job.

    1. @Anyanele Md are you on the war front with them? The world is now a global village, with news filtering out every seconds! Commend the reporters for the risks they take at war fronts!

  2. That’s good solid reporting. The only shocking thing about it is that the general is still alive.

    1. Repent to Jesus Christ

  3. Hard to keep faith in the goodness of humanity in these difficult times… As many have commented before me, I join them in saying excellent journalism. Outstanding work.

    1. If we interpret “humanity” very loosely, we might include Russians. But it would be a stretch.

    2. @Bradley Mosman Selectively, there are Russians who also despise this animalistic savagery on these innocent Ukrainians, and do not agree with this senseless war.

    3. @Bradley Mosman In our “modern” human society and for a large number of citizens, I believe we have lost the ability of autonomous thinking. We’ve unconsciously grown accustomed to forging our opinions based on mass media without even questioning. Russia is no exception and citizens are blindly led to an orchestrated reality. Imagine the shock if the curtain would (when it will) fall! Ahahah, sounds like I’m speaking about the Matrix… 🙂 Cheers! And thanks for commenting.

  4. Nima Elbagir is really a great journalist… Thanks to her for this report! I hope that these war criminals one day will pay for their atrocities!.

  5. Nima, thank you. For Syria, and now Ukraine. For those of us who cannot be there, you’re reporting means so much💖💋🤩

    1. Yep. definitely, Graham. Proper war-time press lady. Brave, dedicated, professional. God protect her.

    2. yes, the amount of forensic legwork that went into this and the vivid but succinct presentation of the findings was outstanding

  6. NOTHING should be allowed to go in or out of Russia until these crimes stop. This should have happened the first time one of these crimes happened.

  7. Extraordinary investigative reporting. Nima Elbargir has done an excellent job reporting to the world the suffering and atrocities inflicted to the Ukrainian people. I hope her reporting is use in a court of law someday to punish those responsible for war crimes. Nima is a war correspondence that should be praised for her reporting and courage to get to the truth.

  8. I wish for this young brave reporter and all her crew safety. Be safe and be careful 🙏 to mother earth for her safety. Stay safe Nima. Pray for Ukraine 🇺🇦 Slava Ukraine

    1. @Jesus has given you all. Repent or die.
      yes, you repent.
it will certainly stop the russian atrocities

  9. Excellent investigation, with the skills of a military intelligence officer to track this all down. A free and unbiased press is the greatest weapon of democracies and, indeed, humanity in the 21st century!

  10. The words at the end made so much sense. Had the international community been more diligent about prosecuting war crimes in Syria, these very same generals would not have been able to commit them in Europe.

    1. America can not talk. They supported isis initially. and jabat al nusra at the beginning of the Syrian war.. And at the the end of the war ,the U.S. littleraly flatted Racca into the ground. How many women and chilren were killed? No one talks about. What we do know is that those women and chdren were the support systems for the fighters, and in that sense they were all combatents. The same can be said for Syria, and the Ukraine.

    2. Now is time to wake up to the simple fact, that Syrians are just as humans as we all are. And deserve sympathy and respect.

    3. And how about the US atrocities in Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Panama, Grenada, Iraq, Afghanistan…,oh yeah it’s always acceptable when the US does it. Sickening the whole lot of you

  11. Conclusions? Russia needs to be stopped or the cycle will repeat itself. Simple as it is. Stay strong my beloved Ukraine! Thanks for all the support, you guys here in Europe and across the globe!
