Watch: President Biden addresses recent mass shootings | USA TODAY

President Joe Biden is set to deliver a speech Thursday night to address a series of recent mass shootings and ramp up his call for Congress to pass "commonsense" gun reform measures.

Biden will give remarks on the "epidemic of gun violence" at 7:30 p.m. ET from the White House, delaying his planned departure to Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, where he's spending the weekend.

The address comes after deadly shootings at supermarket in Buffalo, New York, an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas, and a medical center in Tulsa, Oklahoma, have reinvigorated the president's push for gun reform.

  1. Woof, they(service menwomen) paid for the 2nd amendment. Tennessee mom with a ccw stopped a shooting. NO one talking about her heroism.

  2. The US city with the greatest restrictions on owning firearms, Chicago, has the greatest amount of gun violence each year. There is no correlation between restricting gun ownership and a reduction in gun violence.

  3. How does a serial number on a firearm prevent a criminal from shooting someone? This attempt to restrict Ghost Guns is utterly stupid.

    1. Pre-1968 guns dont have serial numbers. We can buy those “ghost guns” no matter what Potato says

    2. Most shooters do not want to get caught. I thought that was obvious. Guess I am utterly stupid.

  4. 3:15 At the time of the ratification of The U.S. Constitution 1788, and The Second Amendment ratified 1791 you could buy.
Magazine fed repeating rifles like the 20+ round Girandoni or Kaltoff Repeating Rifles in which capacity varied between 5 and 30 rounds, depending on the style of the magazines.
Volley guns. (The closest modern equivalent to these is the Metal storm machine gun the fastest firing and arguably most advanced machine gun to date.)
The weapon that is the origin of the term Machine Gun. (The Puckle Gun.)
    Grenades.
Hand Mortars. (A type of Grenade launcher.)
    Actual Mortars.
Various types of rocket launchers and rockets.
    Warships.
And cannon to start the list.

    1. Are you saying people should be able to buy grenade launchers and rockets. Is that you argument?? WOW!

    2. @Med-Q Medication Compliance System yep.
Particularly since they are so easy to build that even you could do it.

  5. A mag change takes a second. 30 rounds is standard capacity. Ask anyone. Yes we do have a responsibility to secure weapons. But not to the point where they cannot be accessed when needed. Is a cop going to come into a house to inspect that weapons are stored in a way that pleases the crown?

  6. 3:26 Tell that to the people convicted for having a machine gun because their gun had a broken part.

  7. 6:18 Then why was it sold on the civilian market eight years before the military model even existed?

  8. 7:18 FJB does understand the federal government would be required to pay for those requirements under the 5th Amendment also Rights are not “Privileges” and are not lawfully subject to license or licensing requirements the Supreme Court has ruled on other issues it is not likely they will uphold such a law if passed.
    For example

“No state shall convert a liberty into a license, and charge a fee therefore.” (Murdock v. Pennsylvania, 319 U.S. 105)

“If the State converts a right (liberty) into a privilege, the citizen can ignore the license and fee and engage in the right (liberty) with impunity.” (Shuttlesworth v. City of Birmingham, Alabama, 373 U.S. 262)

    1. @Sid Ali Lmao, didn’t the liberals and democrats all say that “FJB” is a slur? The mere fact you have to repurpose a slur to this extent just shows the limits of your ingenuity and creativity. Its another reason why people no longer take democrats and liberals seriously. You spend all this time telling others what not to do and why, meanwhile you are committing the very same acts.

    1. Ahhh, a true vulgarian. Going for the swear words. Your mother must be proud

  9. 9:40 As much as I love the U.S. military the best trained fire arms training experts in the world are mostly not in it

  10. 13:42 That is odd usually they buy their weapons a long time before they commit their crime.

    1. You are filled with stats that should prevent shootings. You need to share all your insights with shooters

  11. I am in support of a convicted felon caught in possession of a firearm (which I see all the time in routine violent crime) gets a minimum of 15 years instead of release back into the community.

  12. The party of open borders, defund the police, no cash bail and returning violent criminals back to the streets is now concerned about your safety? 😂😂

    1. What a way to twist the truth! Open borders is easily possible if wed actually have a closer connection with Mexico and other south american countries, what do you mean no cash bail? Nobody is advocating for that 😂 and nobody wants criminals in the street but people in there for drugs need help not prison time 🙂

  13. We can protect our children but gun “reform” which no one can define is not the problem or answer. First find the reasons and solutions for why we are producing angry young men bent on violance for violance sake with no care for the sanctity of life. They are many and difficult but it must be done. Second stop the retoric of hate and division at all levels. Third secure our school buildings and see that police have the resources and training needed to protect. The only thing standing in the was is the will to get it done. Let’s hope and pray for everyone to see the light and do the right things for everyone not just themselves. My opinion

  14. How about u disarm your nukes, tanks, drones, battleships, f-16s, and fully autos first? Deal? I didn’t think so.
