All the little things Donald Trump is doing now are just like a drug fix. He is addicted to power and he is really high right now. Using his power and making everybody wonder about it. That is Donald Trump. Is anyone surprised? Power and attention: all he craves.
I would call Trump ignoring the pandemic part of his revenge for losing the reelection except for the fact that he’s been ignoring the pandemic since January…well let’s face it, he never really did a good job as president in the first place…
Letter to America – As celebrations take place around the world not just for a new American President but for democracy itself, the US has passed a grim milestone – 125,000 COVID-19 infections a day. America cannot wait for Jan. 20th and the new Biden administration for a national pandemic policy. US deaths are fast approaching 250,000 and could climb to a million by February 28, 2021. We have been losing musicians, our parents, gardeners, teachers, nurses, partners, lovers and children. The University of Washington study is stark but it also estimates hundreds of thousands of lives could be saved over the next months – but only if immediate action is taken.
Even if the government starts distributing a vaccine by New Year’s it will go to the most vulnerable populations first including first responders and the elderly. Then it may take weeks or months after the first inoculation for the vaccine to take full effect. More than one booster shot may be necessary. One serious major complication may be that too many people have been dissuaded from getting vaccinated. If that is the case, it will prolong moving forward precipitously. It is possible we may be wearing masks well through 2021.
The House of Representatives has an obligation to impeach once again against President Trump and his collaborators. The list of this administration’s crimes is long: lies about COVID-19 and our election, obstruction of justice, perjury, racism and the incitement of violence, violating domestic and foreign emolument clauses and violations under 18 U.S. Code § 1091. The administration’s policy of separating more than 5,400 immigrant children from their parents has been called tantamount to torture by the UN Human Rights Council and the American Pediatric Association calls it state sanctioned child abuse. Impeachment could prevent the abuse of the pardon powers and a torrent of potentially destructive executive orders.
Senators of good conscious must find Trump guilty and remove him and others from office without delay. This will reduce the spread of false COVID-19 narratives and allow voices of public health and safety to prevail. We improve our chances of saving every single life we can when there are fewer obstructions. Americans are empowered by the truth. Congressional action is the best antidote to this Presidential poison and a vital, healthier democracy. Feel free to copy and share this on and off social media. – Thank you
