but you cant self-pardon! think about it, if he could have done it he would have by now, if it was at all possible then Nixon would have done it way back for the Watergate scandel, but no, he to have Ford do it for him because he couldn’t pardon himself. so if Trump wanted a pardon he would have to resign and have pence be president for less than a week, or ask joe biden for a pardon, and both of those are not happening.

tRump _thinks_ its a thing. His own sister could tell him how thats gonna work out.
It’s not really a thing, the only reason it’s even mentioned is that people are reading this from the constitution “The President … shall have power to grant reprieves and pardons for offenses against the United States, except in cases of impeachment.” and making the argument that it boils down to the assertion that the words of the clause grant power without limit.
But as most lawmakers have said even if he does it most likely won’t hold up in court.
Because writing about pardons was not written well by forefathers. They wanted it to have room for interperatation
Good news is there a 1976 judicial Supreme Court letter that says self pardon not a thing.

Also a self pardon is not possible. You cannot be the judge of your own criminal acts. A guy named Madison stated this in 1787.
