*Joe Biden’s presidential campaign announced in an email Wednesday that it was going to hike the death tax as part of his “Plans to Support Women During the COVID-19 Crisis.”*
Taxing the grieving children of business owners and rich parents may seem like an odd way to “support women” during a pandemic, but if you know a little about Biden’s inner circle, it makes perfect sense.
The key name here is Ricchetti.
Steve Ricchetti, a revolving-door lobbyist and heavy-duty fundraiser, now serves as chairman and a paid adviser for Biden’s presidential campaign. He was Biden’s chief of staff in the Obama years, a top White House aide under Bill Clinton, and a corporate lobbyist and Democratic fundraiser in between.
Jeff Ricchetti is Steve’s brother, and Jeff now runs the lobbying firm he co-founded with Steve nearly two decades ago. Steve is no longer a registered lobbyist.
During the Clinton administration, while Steve Ricchetti was deputy White House chief of staff, Jeff Ricchetti was a lobbyist working under Tony Podesta — the former king of Democratic lobbyists and fundraisers whose firm has since collapsed under scandal and his work as a foreign agent.
When Steve Ricchetti exited the Clinton administration through the revolving door, he and his brother teamed up and launched the lobbying firm Ricchetti, Inc.
