Lake Baikal is one of the deepest lakes in the world where the Soviet navy had an encounter with mermaid-like creatures. The order was given to try to capture one of the beings with a net and that’s when they were thrust towards the surface by the beings with great force which resulted in the deaths of a number of divers.
The beings didn’t intend to cause any harm until an attempt was made to capture one of them.
