@geofo60 Geof Harris Yes, although I think our social safety nets in both Australia and the UK have been significantly undermined over the last 20 years.
Interestingly the Federal government in Australia significantly increased the social security benefits when we went into lockdown. Unfortunately it is now being wound back. The awful part was a large number of non Australians, such as students and temporary visa holders, could not access the payments and suffered (and are still suffering) terribly.

Where would I start with the programs to improve the living standards for the US. Hmmm let me think – oh how about introducing a national universal healthcare system that provides benefits such as free Covid testing.

A few facts…..33 million doses world wide so far. The countries with highest vaccine rates so far are: US, UK and Israel.
