They have only started testing others. The past two months they have only been testing anyone who traveled international. These numbers are way higher.

This is correct everytime she was asked why we had not stopped flights from Wuhan to Canada she deflected that it was a racist reaction. For the record It was a geographical reaction. She put people’s feelings first and health risk second.

I have just heard that 2 homes in Manitoba have been infected. My mother is in a nursing home in Winnipeg. The screening measures are pitiful. Four questions are asked mainly dealing with travel and if you have a temperature. Remember that a lot of workers in these homes are older. They may be taking advil, tylenol, etc just to go to work because of the physical demands the job requires so taking someone’s temperature is not adequate. These homes were closed March 16th to family so the only person that can bring the virus in will be a worker (unknowingly). The residents in these homes have no “Bubble” so to speak and are in physical contact with hcw’s on a daily basis for washing,eating and cleaning. To protect our MOST VUNERABLE what is Manitoba Health doing? I know that of March 30th no one was wearing a mask and the workers were under the belief or were told they were not required. All workers coming in contact with a resident Must wear a mask. All workers should be tested on a daily basis to ensure they are not infected. Everything should be impeccably cleaned. Bleach everything. Please protect our most vunerable. I want to see my mother again.

Tam told Canadians not to bother protecting ourselves against the virus. Because, reasons.

Going to start off by saying I was also from Hong Kong, and currently residing in Canada. So I have nothing against Dr Tam’s ethnicity or place of origin. With that said, I just want to express that she should be fired ASAP. She’s obviously doing a terrible job, and she’s been feeding Canadians with bad advices and misinformation.
We need to remove her immediately and find a new Chief Public Health Officer who is competent enough to do the job.
